REVELATION

Chapter 22

22:1 And (kai) it thoroughly showed (edeixen) to me (moi) a river (potamon) of water (hudatos) of life (zōēs), shining (lampron) as (hōs) crystal (krustallon), being caused to go out (ekporeuomenon) out (ek) of the (tou) throne (thronou) of the (tou) God (theou), and (kai) [out of the throne] of the (tou) little Lamb (arniou),

22:2 in (en) [the] middle (mesō) of the (tēs) wide place (plateias) of her (autēs).

And (kai) of the (tou) river (potamou), here (enteuthen) and (kai) there (ekeithen), [there was] a tree (xulon) of life (zōēs) making (poioun) twelve (dōdeka) productions (karpous) down according to (kata) each (hekaston) moon (mēna), giving away (apodidoun) the (ton) produce (karpon) of it (autou).

And (kai) the (ta) leaves (phulla) of the (tou) tree (xulou) [are] into (eis) [the] therapy (therapeian) of the (tōt) ethnic groups (ethnōn).

22:3 And (kai) every (pan) curse (katathema) shall absolutely no (ouk) longer yet (eti) cause itself to be (estai)!

And (kai) the (ho) throne (thronos) of the (tou) God (theou), and (kai) of the (tou) little Lamb (arniou), shall cause itself to be (estai) in (en) her (autē).

And (kai) the (hoi) slaves (douloi) of Him (autou) shall serve (latreuousin) Him (autō).

22:4 And (kai) they shall cause themselves to gaze at (opsontai) the (to) face (prosōpon) of Him (autou).

And (kai) the (to) name (onoma) of Him (autou) [shall be] upon (epi) the (tōn) foreheads (metōpōn) of them (autōn).

22:5 And (kai) absolutely no longer (ouk) yet (eti) shall it cause itself to be (estai) night (nux)!

And (kai) they absolutely do not have (ouk echousin) need (chreian) of light (phōtos) of a lamp (luchnou), and (kai) light (phōtos) of a sun (hēliou), because (hoti) [the] Lord (kurios), the (ho) God (theos), shall illuminate (phōtisei) over (ep’) them (autous)!

And (kai) they shall be kings (basileusousin) into (eis) the (tous) ages (aiōnas) of the (tōn) ages (aiōnōn).

(For the one making kings, see Rom. 5:17; 1 Cor. 4:8; 1 Tim. 6:15; Rev. 1:6a, 5:10; 17:14; 22:5)

22:6 And (kai) he enunciated (eipen) to me (moi), “These (houtoi), the (hoi) Words (logoi), [are] believable (pistoi) and (kai) true (alēthinoi)

And (kai) the (ho) Lord (kurios), the (ho) God (theos) of the (tōn) spirits (pneumatōn) of the (tōn) prophets (prophētōn), sent (apesteilen) the (ton) messenger (angelon) of Him (autou) to thoroughly show (deixai) to the (tois) slaves (doulois) of Him (autou) things which (ha) are required (dei) to cause themselves to come to pass (genesthai) in (en) acceleration (tachei).

22:7 And (kai) behold (idou), I cause myself to come (erchomai) quickly (tachu)!

A happy one (makarios) [is] the one (ho) watchfully keeping (tērōn) the (tous) Words (legous) of the (tēs) prophecy (prophēteias) of the (tou) little scroll (bibliou) of this (toutou).”

(Rev. 22:6-7 is a good reference to agency, of both Christ Jesus and his one body as agents of the God.)

22:8 And I (kagō), John (Iōannēs), [am] the one (ho) hearing (akouōn) and (kai) seeing (blepōn) these things (tauta).

And (kai) when (hote) I heard (ēkousa) and (kai) I looked (eblepsa), I fell4098 (epesa) in front (emprosthen) to bow to4352 (proskunēsai) the (tōn) feet (podōn) of the (tou) messenger (angelou), of the (tou) [messenger] thoroughly showing (deiknuontos) to me (moi) these things (tauta).

(For all of the things the Word caused itself to do and become see note under Luke 24:19.)

22:9 And (kai) he says (legei) to me (soi), “Do not (mē) gaze (hora) [at me]!

I am (eimi) a slave together with (sundoulos) you (sou), and (kai) of the (tōn) brothers (adelphōn) of you (sou), of the (tōn) prophets (prophētōn), and (kai) of the ones (tōn) watchfully keeping (tērountōn) the (tous) Words (logous) of the (tou) little scroll (bibliou) of this (toutou).

Bow to4352 (proskunēson) the (tō) God (theō)!”

22:10 And (kai) [the God, v9] says (legei) to me (moi), “You may not seal (mē sphragisēs) the (tous) Words (logous) of the (tēs) prophecy (prophēteias) of the (tou) little scroll (bibliou) of this (toutou), because (gar) the (ho) time (kairos) is (estin) near (engus).

22:11 The one (ho) being unrighteous (adikōn), do unrighteousness (adikēsatō) yet still (eti).

And (kai) the (ho) dirty one (rhuparos), be dirtied (rhupanthētō) yet still (eti).

And (kai) the (ho) righteous one (dikaios), do (poiēsatō) righteousness (dikaiosunēn) yet still (eti).

And (kai) the (ho) holy one (hagios), be made holy (hagiasthētō) yet still (eti).

22:12 Behold (idou), I cause myself to come (erchomai) quickly (tachu)!

And (kai) the (ho) wage (misthos) of me (mou) [is] with (met’) me (emou), to give away (apodounai) to each one (hekastō) as (hōs) is (estin) the (to) work (ergon) of him (autou).

22:13 I (egō) [am] the (to) Alpha one (alpha) and (kai) the (to) Omega one (ō), the (ho) first one (prōtos) and (kai) the (ho) last one (eschatos), the (hē) chief one746 (archē) and (kai) the (to) completed one (telos)."

22:14 "Happy ones (makarioi) [are] the ones (hoi) washing (plunontes) the (tas) stoles (stolas) of them (autōn);

in order that (hina) the (hē) authority (exousia) of them (autōn) shall cause itself to be (estai) over (epi) the (to) tree (xulon) of the (tēs) life (zōēs);

and (kai) they may have entered in (eiselthōsin) to the (tois) gates (pulōsin) into (eis) the (tēn) city (polin).

("Happy ones are the..." is a favorite saying of Christ Jesus.)

(Is this posterity of Abraham, the posterity which God promised to Abraham, the ones out of it who shall believe God's Word as Abraham did, which ones the writer of Hebrews refers to as a "city", are they the new heavenly Jerusalem, the "city" of God? Mat. 5:14, 35; Gal. 4:25-26; Heb. 11:10-16, 12:22-24, 13:14; Rev. 3:12, 21:2-3, 10-27, 22:14, 19)

22:15 Outside (exō) [are] the (hoi) dogs (kunes), and (kai) the (hoi) sorcerers (pharmakoi), and (kai) the (hoi) fornicators (pornoi), and (kai) the (hoi) murderers (phoneis), and (kai) the (hoi) idolaters (eidōlolatrai), and (kai) everyone (pas) loving (philōn) and (kai) doing (poiōn) falsehood (pseudos).

22:16 I (egō), Jesus (Iēsous), sent (epempsa) the (ton) messenger (angelon) of me (mou) to witness (marturēsai) to you (humin) these things (tauta) over (epi) the (tais) assemblies (ekklēsiais).

I (egō) am (eimi) the (hē) root (rhiza) and (kai) the (to) genus (genos) of David (Dauid);

[I am] the (ho) star (astēr), the (ho) shining one (lampros), [the] first light one (prōinos).

22:17 And (kai) the (to) Spirit (pneuma) and (kai) the (hē) bride (numphē) say (legousin), ‘Cause yourself to come (erchou)!’

And (kai) the one (ho) hearing (akouōn), let him enunciate (eipatō) ‘Cause yourself to come (erchou)!’

And (kai) the one (ho) thirsting (dipsōn), let him cause himself to come (erchesthō).

The one (ho) desiring (thelōn), receive (labetō) [the] water (hudōr) of life (zōēs) gratuitously (dōrean)!

(For examples of the apostle, prophets, evangelists, pastors, teachers, and disciples of Christ Jesus NOT selling or bartering the knowledge and things of God for personal gain, or of NOT accepting money or personal gifts for themselves, but rather working with their own hands to provide for their own personal necessary needs, see Mat. 5:42-48, 10:8; Luke 7:19-22, 41-43; Acts 8:9-24, 18:1-3, 20:33-35; Rom. 3:24, 8:32; 1 Cor. 2:12, 4:12, 4:1-13, 9:3-23, 16:1-4; 2 Cor. 11:7; Eph. 4:28; 1 Thes. 4:11-12; 2 Thes. 3:6-12; 1 Tim. 3:3; Titus 1:11; 3 John 1:6-7; Rev. 21:6, 22:17)

22:18 I (egō) witness (marturō) to everyone (panti), to the one (tō) hearing (akouonti) the (tous) Words (logous) of the (tēs) prophecy (prophēteias) of the (tou) little scroll (bibliou) of this (toutou), if perhaps (ean) anyone (tis) may put (epithē) [other words] over (ep’) them (auta), the (ho) God (theos) shall put (epithēsei) upon (ep’) him (auton) the (tas) plagues (plēgas) having been written (gegrammenas) in (en) this (toutō), the (tō) little scroll (bibliō).

22:19 And (kai) if perhaps (ean) anyone (tis) may seize away (aphelē) from (apo) the (tōn) Words (logōn) of the (tou) little scroll (bibliou) of the (tēs) prophecy (prophēteias) of this (tautēs), the (ho) God (theos) shall seize away (aphelei) the (to) allotment (meros) of him (autou) from (apo) the (tou) tree (xulou) of the (tēs) life (zōēs), and (kai) out (ek) of the (tēs) city (poleōs), of the (tēs) holy one (hagias), of the things (tōn) having been written (gegrammenōn) in (en) this (toutō), the (to) little scroll (bibliō)”,

22:20 says (legei) the one (ho) witnessing (marturōn) these things (tauta)

“Yes (nai), I cause myself to come (erchomai) quickly (tachu)!”

It is true (amēn)!  Cause yourself to come (erchou), lord (kurie) Jesus (Iēsou)!

22:21 The (hē) grace (charis) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) Jesus (Iēsou) [be] with (meta) all (pantōn).

(For the Word being a called-out messenger, and the other messengers being partners of him, and then he becoming a stronger positioned one of the messengers, and then he becoming a son of God, and then he becoming an ageless chief sacrificial priest, see Acts 3:20; Heb. 1:4-5, 9, 2:9, 7:26; 1 Pet. 2:4; Rev. 1:1, 22:8-21)
