REVELATION

Chapter 14

14:1 And (kai) I saw (eidon), and (kai) behold (idou), the (to) little Lamb (arnion) having stood (hestos) upon (epi) the (to) mountain (oros) Zion (Siōn).

And (kai) with (met’) him (autou) [there were] a hundred (hekaton) [and] forty (tesserakonta) four (tessares) thousands (chiliades) having (echousai) the (to) name (onoma) of him (autou), and (kai) the (to) name (onoma) of the (tou) Father (patros) of him (autou) having been written (gegrammenon) upon (epi) the (tōn) foreheads (metōpōn) of them (autōn).

14:2 And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) a sound (phōnēn) out (ek) of the (tou) heaven (ouranou), as (hōs) a sound (phōnēn) of many (pollōn) waters (hudatōn), and (kai) as (hōs) a sound (phōnēn) of great (megalēs) thunder (brontēs).

And (kai) the (hē) sound (phōnē) which (hēn) I heard (ēkousa) [was] as (hōs) of harpists (kitharōdōn) harping (kitharizontōn) among (en) the (tais) harps (kitharais) of them (autōn).

14:3 And (kai) they sing (adousin) as (hōs) [it were] a new (kainēn) ode (ōdēn) in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) throne (thronou), and (kai) in sight (enōpion) of the (tōn) four (tessarōn) living things (zōōn), and (kai) the (tōn) elders (presbuterōn).

And (kai) absolutely not one (oudeis) was causing himself to be inherently powered (edunato) to learn (mathein) the (tēn) ode (ōdēn), if (ei) not (mē) the (hai) hundred (hekaton) [and] forty (tesserakonta) four (tessares) thousands (chiliades), the ones (hoi) having been bought at market (ēgorasmenoi) from (apo) the (tēs) land (gēs)!

14:4 These ones (houtoi) are (eisin) ones who (hoi) were absolutely not soiled (ouk emolunthēsan) with (meta) females (gunaikōn), because (gar) they are (eisin) virgins (parthenoi).

These ones (houtoi) [are] the ones (hoi) following (akolouthountes) the (tō) little Lamb (arniō), perhaps (an) wherever (hopou) it may get underway (hupagē)

These ones (houtoi) were bought at market (ēgorasthēsan) from (apo) the (tōn) mortals (anthrōpōn), a beginning offering (aparchē) to the (tō) God (theō), and (kai) to the (tō) little Lamb (arniō).

(For a beginning offering see Rom. 8:23, 11:16, 16:5; 1 Cor. 15:20-23, 16:15; James 1:18; Rev. 14:4)

14:5 And (kai) in (en) the (tō) mouth (stomati) of them (autōn) there was absolutely not found (ouch heurethē) a falsehood (pseudos);

they are (eisin) unblemished (amōmoi)!

14:6 And (kai) I saw (eidon) another (allon) messenger (angelon) causing itself to fly (petomenon) in (en) mid-heaven (mesouranēmati), holding (echonta) an ageless (aiōnion) Evangelism (euangelion) to evangelize (euangelisai) over (epi) the ones (tous) causing themselves to sit down (kathēmenous) over (epi) the (tēs) land (gēs), and (kai) over (epi) every (pan) ethnic group (ethnos), and (kai) kindred (phulēn), and (kai) tongue (glōssan), and (kai) people (laon),

14:7 saying (legōn) in (en) a great (megalē) voice (phōnē), “Be made fearful (phobēthēte) of the (ton) God (theon), and (kai) give (dote) glory (doxan) to Him (autō), because (hoti) the (hē) hour (hōra) of the (tēs) judgment (kriseōs) of Him (autou) has come (ēlthen).

And (kai) bow to4352 (proskunēsate) the one (tō) having made (poiēsanti) the (ton) heaven (ouranon), and (kai) the (tēn) land (gēn), and (kai) sea (thalassan), and (kai) fountains (pēgas) of waters (hudatōn).”

14:8 And (kai) another (allos) messenger (angelos), a second one (deuteros), followed (ēkolouthēsen), saying (legōn), “Babylon (Babulōn) the (hē) great (megalē) fell (epesen), fell (epesen);

who (hē) has given a drink (pepotiken) to all (panta) the (ta) ethnic groups (ethnē) out (ek) of the (tou) wine (oinou) of the (tou) passion (thumou) of the (tēs) fornication (porneias) of her (autēs)!”

14:9 And (kai) another (allos) messenger (angelos), a third one (tritos), followed (ēkolouthēsen) them (autois) saying (legōn) in (en) a great (megalē) voice (phōnē), “If (ei) anyone (tis) bows to4352 (proskunei) the (to) wild animal (thērion) and (kai) the (tēn) icon (eikona) of it (autou), and (kai) receives (lambanei) a character (charagma) upon (epi) the (tou) forehead (metōpou) of him (autou), or (ē) upon (epi) the (tēn) hand (cheira) of him (autou),

14:10 he (autos) also (kai) shall cause himself to drink (pietai) out (ek) of the (tou) wine (oinou) of the (tou) passion (thumou) of the (tou) God (theou), of the (tou) undiluted (akratou) [wine] having been amalgamated (kekerasmenou) in (en) the (tō) cup (potēriō) of the (tēs) anger (orgēs) of Him (autou).

And (kai) he shall be tormented (basanisthēsetai) in (en) fire (puri) and (kai) sulfur (theiō) in sight (enōpion) of holy (hagiōn) messengers (angelōn), and (kai) in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) little Lamb (arniou).

14:11 And (kai) the (ho) smoke (kapnos) of the (tou) torment (basanismou) of them (autōn) goes up (anabainei) into (eis) ages (aiōnas) of ages (aiōnōn).

And (kai) they absolutely do not have (ouk echousin) a time of resting up (anapausin), day (hēmeras) and (kai) night (nuktos), the ones (hoi) bowing to4352 (proskunountes) the (to) wild animal (thērion) and (kai) the (tēn) icon (eikona) of it (autou), if (ei) anyone (tis) also (kai) receives (lambanei) the (to) character (charagma) of the (tou) name (onomatos) of it (autou)!”

14:12 Here (hōde) is (estin) the (hē) endurance (hupomonē) of the (tōn) holy ones (hagiōn), the ones (hoi) watching (tērountes) the (tas) injunctions (entolas) of the (tou) God (theou), and (kai) the (tēn) belief (pistis) of Jesus (Iēsou).

14:13 And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) a voice (phōnēs) out (ek) of the (tou) heaven (ouranou), saying (legousēs), “Write (grapson), ‘Happy ones (makarioi) [are] the (hoi) dead ones (nekroi), the ones (hoi) dying away (apothnēskontes) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō) from (ap’) this time (arti).'"

'Yes (nai),’ says (legei) the (to) Spirit (pneuma), ‘in order that (hina) they shall be caused to rest up (anapaēsontai) out (ek) of the (tōn) labors (kopōn) of them (autōn).'

Because (gar) the (ta) works (erga) of them (autōn) follow (akolouthei) with (met’) [the passing] of them (autōn).”

14:14 And (kai) I saw (eidon), and (kai) behold (idou), a white (leukē) cloud (nephelē)!

And (kai) upon (epi) the (tēn) cloud (nephelēn) [there was] one causing himself to sit down (kathēmenon), like (homoion) a son (huion) of a mortal (anthrōpou), he having (echōn) a golden (chrusoun) crown (stephanon) upon (epi) the (tēs) head (kephalēs) of him (autou)

And (kai) [there was] in (en) the (tē) hand (cheiri) of him (autou) a keen (oxu) plucking knife (drepanon).

14:15 And (kai) another (allos) messenger (angelos) came out (exēlthen) out (ek) of the (tou) holy place (naou), crying (krazōn) in (en) a great (megalē) voice (phōnē) to the one (tō) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenō) upon (epi) the (tēs) cloud (nephelēs), “Send (pempson) the (to) plucking knife (drepanon) of you (sou) and (kai) harvest (therison);

because (hoti) the (hē) hour (hōra) to harvest (therisai) came (ēlthen);

because (hoti) the (ho) harvest (therismos) of the (tēs) land (gēs) was dried out (exēranthē)!"

14:16 And (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenos) upon (epi) the (tēs) cloud (nephelēs) threw in (ebalen) the (to) plucking knife (drepanon) of him (autou) upon (epi) the (tēn) land (gēn), and (kai) the (hē) land (gē) was harvested (etheristhē).

14:17 And (kai) another (allos) messenger (angelos) came out (exēlthen) out (ek) of the (tou) holy place (naou), of the one (tou) in (en) the (tō) heaven (ouranō), he (autos) also (kai) having (echōn) a keen (oxu) plucking knife (drepanon).

14:18 And (kai) another (allos) messenger (angelos) came out (exēlthen) out (ek) of the (tou) altar (thusiastēriou), the one (ho) holding (echōn) authority (exousian) over (epi) the (tou) fire (puros)

And (kai) he voiced (ephōnēsen) a great (megalē) voice (phōnē) to the one (tō) holding (echonti) the (to) plucking knife (drepanon), the (to) keen one (oxu), saying (legōn), “Send (pempson) the (to) plucking knife (drepanon) of you (sou), the (to) keen one (oxu), and (kai) vinify (trugēson) the (tous) clusters (botruas) of the (tēs) vine (ampelou) of the (tēs) land (gēs), because (hoti) the (hai) grapes (staphulai) of her (autēs) are at their peak (ēkmasan).”

14:19 And (kai) the (ho) messenger (angelos) threw in (ebalen) the (to) plucking knife (drepanon) of it (autou) into (eis) the (tēn) land (gēn), and (kai) vinified (etrugēsen) the (tēn) vine (ampelon) of the (tēs) land (gēs) and (kai) threw [it] in (ebalen) into (eis) the (tēn) vat (lēnon) of the (tou) passion (thumou) of the (tou) God (theou), of the (ton) great one (megan).

14:20 And (kai) the (hē) vat (lēnon) was walked in (epatēthē) outside (exōthen) of the (tēs) city (poleōs).

And (kai) blood (haima) came out (exēlthen) out (ek) of the (tēs) vat (lēnou) unto (achri) the (tōn) bridles (chalinōn) of the (tōn) horses (hippōn), from (apo) a thousand (chiliōn) six hundred (hexakosiōn) stadia (stadiōn).
