Chapter 4

4:8 Of the (to) remainder (loipon), brothers (adelphoi), as many as (hosa) are (estin) true ones (alēthē), as many as (hosa) [are] reputable ones (semna), as many as (hosa) [are] righteous ones (dikaia), as many as (hosa) [are] innocent ones (hagna), as many as (hosa) [are] friendly ones (prosphilē), as many as (hosa) [are] well-famed ones (euphēma), if (ei) [there is] any (tis) one of virtue (aretē), and (kai) if (ei) [there is] any (tis) one of praise (epainos), be caused to count (logizesthe) these ones (tauta).


4:9 And (kai) things which (ha) you learned (emathete), and (kai) you received alongside (parelabete), and (kai) you heard (ēkousate), and (kai) you saw (eidete) in (en) me (emoi), you habitually practice (prassete) these things (tauta);


and (kai) the (ho) God (theos) of the (tēs) peace (eirēnēs) shall cause Himself to be (estai) together with (meth’) you (humōn)!


4:10 But (de) I was caused to rejoice (echarēn) greatly (megalōs) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō);


because (hoti) already (ēdē) in time passed (pote) you sprouted up (anethalete) the (to) [thought of you v1:7] to think (phronein) over (huper) [the sake] of me (emou), upon (eph’) that which (hō) you are thinking (ephroneite) [now] also (kai), but (de) you are not being given a time (ēkaireisthe);


4:11 because (hoti) I absolutely do not speak (ouch legō) down on account (kath) of a lack (husterēsin)!


Because (gar) I (egō) learned (emathon), whatever (hois) [times] I am (eimi) in (en), to be (einai) self-sufficient (autarkēs)!

And (kai) I have been initiated (memuēmai) in (en) all things (pasin), both (kai) to be pastured5526 (chortazesthai) and (kai) to pine (pinan), both (kai) to abound (perisseuein) and (kai) to lack (hustereisthai).


4:13 I am strong (ischuō) [enough] for all things (panta) in (en) the one (tō) inherently empowering (endunamounti) me (me)

4:16 And (kai) that (hoti) in (en) Thessalonica (Thessalonikē), both (kai) once (hapax) and (kai) twice (dis), you sent (epempsate) into (eis) the (tēn) need (chreian) to me (moi).

4:23 The (hē) grace (charis) of the (tou) lord (kuriou), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), [is] together with (meta) the (tou) Spirit (pneumatos) of you (humōn).
