2 JOHN

 

1:1 To the (ho) called out (eklektē) elder (presbuteros), Cyria (Kuria), and (kai) to the (tois) ones born (teknois) of her (autēs), whom (hous) I (egō) love (agapō) in (en) Truth (alētheia), and (kai) absolutely not (ouk) I (egō) only (monos), BUT (alla), all (pantes) the ones (hoi) also (kai) having known (egnōkotes) the (tēn) Truth (alētheian),

 

1:2 through (dia) the (tēn) Truth (alētheian), the (tēn) [Truth] staying (menousan) in (en) us (hēmin) (and (kai) it shall cause itself to be (estai) with (meth’) us (hēmōn) into (eis) the (ton) age (aiōna)),

 

1:3 [there is] grace (charis), mercy (eleos), peace (eirēnē) alongside3844 (para) God (theou) [the] Father (patros), and (kai) alongside (para) Jesus (Iēsous) Christ (Christou), the (tou) Son (huiou) of the (tou) Father (patros), in (en) Truth (alētheia) and (kai) love (agapē)!

1:4 I was caused to rejoice (echarēn) very greatly (lian) that (hoti) I have found (heurēka), out (ek) of the (tōn) ones born (teknōn) of you (sou), ones walking around (peripatountas) in (en) Truth (alētheia), down according to as (kathōs) we received (elabomen) an injunction (entolēn) alongside (para) of the (tou) Father (patros).

 

1:5 And (kai) now (nun) I inquire (erōtō) of you (se), Cyria (Kuria), absolutely not (ouch) writing (graphōn) to you (soi) a new (kainēn) injunction (entolēn), BUT (alla), one which (hēn) we've been having (eichomen) from (ap’) [the] beginning (archēs), that (hina) we should love (agapōmen) one another (allēlous)!

 

1:6 And (kai) this (hautē) is (estin) the (hē) love (agapē):

 

in order that2443 (hina) we may walk around (peripatōmen) down according to (kata) the (tas) injunctions (entolas) of Him (autou).  

 

This (hautē) is (estin) the (hē) injunction (entolē) down according to as (kathōs) you heard (ēkousate) from (ap’) [the] beginning (archēs), in order that (hina) we may walk around (peripatētē) in (en) her (autē).

 

1:7 Because (hoti) many (polloi) wanderers (planoi) came out (exēlthon) into (eis) the (ton) cosmos (kosmon), the ones (hoi) not (mē) confessing (homologountes) Jesus (Iēsoun) Christ (Christon) causing himself to come (erchomenon) in (en) flesh (sarki)

 

This one (houtos) is (estin) the (ho) Wanderer (planos) and (kai) the (ho) Antichrist (antichristos).

1:8 Look at (blepete) yourselves (heautous), in order that (hina) you may not lose (mē apolesēte) the things (ha) [for which] we caused ourselves to work (eirgasametha);

 

BUT (alla), [in order that] you may receive (apolabēte) a full (plērē) wage (misthon)

 

1:9 The one (ho), everyone (pas), leading before (proagōn) [others] and (kai) not (mē) staying (menōn) in (en) to the (tē) orthodoxy (didachē) of the (tou) Christ (Christou), he absolutely does not hold (ouk echei) God (theon)!

 

The one (ho) staying (menōn) in (en) to the (tē) orthodoxy (didachē), this one (houtos) holds (echei) the (ton) Father (patera), and (kai) the (ton) son (huion) also (kai)

 

1:10 If (ei) anyone (tis) causes himself to come (erchetai) to (pros) you (humas) and (kai) absolutely does not bring (ou pherei) the (tēn) orthodoxy (didachēn) of this (tautēn), do not receive (mē lambanete) him (auton) into (eis) a house (oikian), and (kai) do not say (mē legete) to him (autō) to rejoice (chairein)

 

1:11  Because (gar) the one (ho) saying (legōn) to him (autō) to rejoice (chairein) shares in (koinōnei) the (tois) works (ergois) of him (autou), the (tois) evil ones (ponērois)

 

1:12 I having (echōn) many things (polla) for you (humin), I was absolutely not caused to wish (ouk eboulēthēn) to write (graphein) through (dia) a chart (chartou) and (kai) black (melanos).  

 

BUT (alla), I hope (elpizō) to cause myself to become (genesthai) to (pros) you (humas), and (kai) to speak (lalēsai) mouth (stoma) to (pros) mouth (stoma), in order that (hina) the (hē) joy (chara) of us (hēmōn) may be (ē) having been filled full (peplērōmenē)!

 

1:13 The (ta) ones born (tekna) of the (tēs) sister (adelphēs) of you (sou), the (tēs) called out one (eklektēs), [each] causes himself to embrace (aspazetai) you (se).
