2 CORINTHIANS

Chapter 10

10:1 But (de) I (ēgo) myself (autos), Paul (Paulos), accost (parakalō) you (humas) through (dia) [the sake] of the (tēs) meekness (prautētos) and (kai) gentleness (epieikeias) of the (tou) Christ (Christou);

[being] one who (hos), down according to (kata) face (prosōpon) [appearance], truly (men) [is] humble (tapeinos) among (en) you (humin)!

But (de) I being away from (apōn) [you], I am confident (tharrō) into (eis) you (humas).

10:2 But (de) I not being alongside (mē parōn) [of you], I cause myself to beg (deomai) of the (to) [Christ] to have confidence (tharrēsai) for the (tē) daring (pepoithēsei) which (hē) I am caused to count myself (logizomai) [as having], to be audacious (tolmēsai) over (epi) [the sake] of some (tinas), the ones (tous) causing themselves to count (logizomenous) us (hēmas) as (hōs) walking around (peripatountas) down according to (kata) [the] flesh (sarka).

10:3 Because (gar) we are ones walking around (peripatountes) in (en) flesh (sarki), we absolutely do not arm ourselves (ou strateuometha) down according to (kata) [the] flesh (sarka)!

10:4 Because (gar) the (ta) weapons (hopla) of the (tēs) armament (strateias) of us (hēmōn) [are] absolutely not (ou) flesh-based things (sarkika)!

BUT (alla), [we are] inherently powered ones (dunata) for the (tō) God (theō), toward (pros) [the] downthrow (kathairesin) of strongholds (ochurōmatōn):

we seizing down (kathairountes) reasoning’s (logismous),

10:5 and (kai) every (pan) high body (hupsōma) causing itself to lift itself up (epairomenon) down against (kata) the (tēs) knowledge (gnōseōs) of the (tou) God (theou);

and (kai) we taking captive at spear point (aichmalōtizontes) every (pan) perception (noēma) into (eis) the (tēn) attentive hearing (hupakoēn) of the (tou) Christ (Christou);

10:6 and (kai) we are holding (echontes) in (en) readiness (hetoimō) to avenge out (ekdikēsai) all (pasan) inattentive hearing (parakoēn), when perhaps (hotan) the (hē) attentive hearing (hupakoē) of you (humōn) may be fulfilled (plērōthē)

(For a believer in his discipleship to Christ Jesus being led to being stripped of the power of holy Spirit through false teaching, see Mat. 15:9; John 8:31-47; Rom. 1:21-22; 2 Cor. 10:5-6; 11:13-15; Eph. 5:6-12; *Col. 2:8; 2 Tim. 3:1-15, 4:3-4; Tit. 1:10-14)

10:7 You look at (blepete) the things (ta) down according to (kata) face (prosōpon) [appearance].

If (ei) anyone (tis) has been persuaded (pepoithen) for himself (heautō) to be (einai) of Christ (Christou), let this one cause himself to count (touto logizesthō) again (palin) over (eph’) [the sake] of himself (heautou), that (hoti) down according to as (kathōs) he (autos) [is] of Christ (Christou), thusly (houtōs) we (hēmeis) [are] also (kai).

10:8 And (te) because (gar) if perhaps (ean) I may cause myself to boast (kauchēsōmai) of something (ti) beyond abundant (perissoteron), about (peri) the (tēs) authority (exousias) of us (hēmōn) of which (hēs) the (ho) lord (kurios) gave (edōken) into (eis) [the building of] a domed-roof house3619 (oikodomēn), and (kai) absolutely not (ouk) into (eis) a downthrow (kathairesin) of you (humōn), [of which] I shall absolutely not be ashamed (ouk aischunthēsomai),

10:9 [it is] in order that (hina) I may not conclude (mē doxō) perhaps (an) as (hōs) to fear you out (ekphobein humas) through (dia) [the sake] of the (tōn) epistles (epistolōn)!

10:10 Because (hoti) the (hai) epistles (epistolai) shed light5346 (phēsin), truly (men) weighty (bareiai) and (kai) strong (ischurai)!

But (de) the (hē) presence (parousia) of the (tou) body (sōmatos) [is] a disabled one (asthenēs), and (kai) the (ho) Word (logos) [is one] having been put out [as being] absolutely nothing (exouthenēmenous)!

10:11 [Let] the one (ho) like this (toioutos) cause himself to count (logizesthō) this (touto):

That (hoti), ones such as (hoioi) we are (esmen) for the (tō) Word (logō) through (di’) epistles (epistolōn), [when] we are being away from (apontes) [you], [we are] ones like these (toioutoi) for work (ergō) for the (tō) [Word], [when] we are being alongside (parontes) also (kai)!

10:12 Because (gar) we are absolutely not audacious (ou tolmōmen) [enough] to judge ourselves [to be] among (enkrinai heautous), or (ē) to judge [ourselves to be] together with (sunkrinai) some (tisin) of the ones (tōn) standing in place together with (sunistanontōn) themselves (heautous)!

BUT (alla) they (autoi), ones measuring (metrountes) themselves (heautous) among (en) themselves (heautois), and (kai) ones judging together with (sunkrinontes) themselves (heautous) for themselves (heautois), they absolutely do not put [the epistles] together (ou suniasin)!

(For what many people do, the ones who can’t put God’s Word together, see 1 Cor. 2:13; 2 Cor. 10:12)

10:13 But (de) we (hēmeis) shall absolutely not cause ourselves to boast (ouk kauchēsometha) into (eis) the things (ta) unable to be measured (ametra), BUT (alla), down according to (kata) the (to) measurement (metron) of the (tou) canon2583 (kanonos) of which (hou) the (ho) God (theos) divided (emerisen) to us (hēmin), [a canon] of measurement (metrou) to arrive over (ephikesthai) unto (achri) you (humōn) also (kai)!

10:14 Because (gar) as (hōs) we are being caused not to arrive over (mē ephiknoumenoi) into (eis) you (humas), we are absolutely not over-stretching (ou huperekteinomen) ourselves (heautous)!

Because (gar) unto (achri) you (humōn) also (kai) we came sooner (ephthasamen) in (en) the (tō) Evangelism (euangeliō) of the (tou) Christ (Christou);

10:15 absolutely not causing ourselves to boast (kauchōmenoi) into (eis) the things (ta) unable to be measured (ametra), in (en) to others' (allotriois) labors (kopois)!

But (de) we are having (echontes) hope (elpida) of the (tēs) belief (pisteōs) of you (humōn) being caused to grow (auxanomenēs) among (en) you (humin), to be made great (megalunthēnai) into (eis) abundance (perisseian), down according to (kata) the (ton) canon2583 (kanona) of us (hēmōn)!

10:16 to cause ourselves to evangelize (euangelisasthai) into (eis) the ones (ta) of those beyond (huperekeina) you (humōn);

absolutely not (ouk) to cause ourselves to boast (kauchēsasthai) in (en) a canon2583 (kanoni) [belonging] to another (allotriō), into (eis) the things (ta) [already being] ready (hetoima);

10:17 But (de) the one (ho) causing himself to boast (kauchōmenos), let him cause himself to boast (kauchasthō) in (en) [the] Lord (kuriō)!

10:18 Because (gar) the one (ho) sustaining (sunistanōn) himself (heauton), that one (ekeinos) is (estin) absolutely not (ou) an approved one (dokimos)!

BUT (alla), [the one] whom (hom) the (ho) lord (kurios) sustains (sunistēsin), [that one is an approved one]!
