2 CORINTHIANS

Chapter 6

6:1 But (de) [as] ones working together with (sunergountes) [God, v5:20; 6:4] we console (parakaloumen) you (humas) also (kai), not (mē) into (eis) an empty (kenon) [reconciliation, v5:19], [but] to cause yourselves to receive (dexasthai) the (tēn) grace (charin) of the (tou) God (theou).

6:2 Because (gar) He says (legei), “I heard over (epēkousa) [the sake] of you (sou) [in] an acceptable (dektō) time (kairō);

and (kai) in (en) a day (hēmera) of wholeness (sōtērias) I gave help (eboēthēsa) to you (soi).”

Behold (idou), now (nun) [is] a time (kairos) well received toward (euprosdektos) [God]!

Behold (idou), now (nun) [is] a day (hēmera) of wholeness (sōtērias)!

6:3 In (en) not one thing (mēdemian), to not one (mēdeni), are we giving (didontes) a strike (proskopēn), in order that (hina) the (hē) ministry (diakonia) may not be blamed (mē mōmēthē)!

6:4 BUT (all’), in (en) everything (panti) [let] ourselves (heautous) be ones standing in place together with (sunistantes) [God] as (hōs) ministers (diakonoi) of God (theou);

[standing in place together] in (en) much (pollē) endurance (hupomonē);

in (en) mental pressures (thlipsesin);

in (en) necessities (anagkais);

in (en) confinements (stenochōriais);

6:5 in (en) plagues (plēgais);

in (en) guardrooms (phulakais);

in (en) instabilities (akatastasiais);

in (en) labors (kopois);

in (en) instances of sleeplessness (agrupniais);

in (en) fastings (nēsteiais);

6:6 in (en) purity (hagnotēti);

in (en) knowledge (gnōsei);

in (en) benevolence (chrēstotēti);

in (en) holy (hagio) Spirit (pneumati);

in (en) love (agapē) without acting (anupokritō);

6:7 in (en) Word (logō) of Truth (alētheias);

in (en) inherent power (dunamei) of God (theou);

through (dia) the (tōn) armor (hoplōn) of the (tēs) righteousness (dikaiosunēs), of the (tōn) right (dexiōn) and (kai) [of the] left (aristerōn);

6:8 through (dia) glory (doxēs), and (kai) [through times] of no highly esteemed value (atimias);

through (dia) infamy (dusphēmias), and (kai) euphemy (euphēmias);

as (hōs) wandering ones (planoi), and (kai) true ones (alētheis);

6:9 as (hōs) being ignorant ones (agnooumenoi), and (kai) being experientially knowing ones (epiginōskomenoi);

as (hōs) ones dying away (apothnēskontes), and (kai) behold (idou), we live (zōmen);

as (hōs) ones being child-trained (paideuomenoi), and (kai) ones not being put to death (mē thanatoumenoi);

6:10 as (hōs) ones being grieved (lupoumenoi), but (de) ones constantly rejoicing (aei chairontes);

as (hōs) poor ones (ptōchoi), but (de) ones making many wealthy (pollous ploutizontes);

as (hōs) having (echontes) nothing (mēden), and (kai) ones holding down (katechontes) all things (panta)!

6:11 The (to) mouth (stoma) of us (hēmōn) has been opened up (aneōgen) to (pros) you (humas), Corinthians (korinthioi).

The (hē) heart (kardia) of us (hēmōn) has been broadened around (peplatuntai).

6:12 You are absolutely not being confined (ou stenochōreisthe) in (en) us (hēmin), but (de) you are being confined (stenochōreisthe) in (en) the (tois) spleens4698 (splanchnois) of you (humōn)!

6:13 But (de) of the (tēn) anti-wage (antimisthian) of her (autēn), [the heart, v11], I speak (legō), as (hōs) to ones born (teknois) [of me], you (humeis) also (kai) be broadened (platunthēte) [in heart, v11].

6:14 Do not cause yourselves to become (mē ginesthe) ones being yoked to others (heterozugountes), to unbelievable ones (apistois).

Because (gar) we (hēmeis) are (esmen) [the] holy place (naos) of a living (zōntos) God (theou).

Down according to as (kathōs) the (ho) God (theos) enunciated (eipen), “I shall be in-housed (enoikēsō) in (en) them (autois), and (kai) I shall walk in (emperipatēsō) [them].

And (kai) I shall cause Myself to be (esomai) [the] God (theos) of them (autōn), and (kai) they shall cause themselves to be (esontai) [the] people (laos) of Me (mou)!”

(See Lev. 26:11-12)

6:17 Through which (dio) [sake], “Come out (exelthate), out (ek) [of the] midst (mesou) them (autōn), and (kai) you be segregated away (aphoristhēte), says (legei) [the] Lord (kurios).

“And (kai) do not cause yourselves to take hold (mē haptesthe) of an unclean thing (akathartou), and I (kagō) shall cause Myself to receive you into (eisdexomai humas) [Me]!

6:18 And (kai) I shall cause Myself to be (esomai) a Father (patera) into (eis) you (humin), and (kai) you (humeis) shall cause yourselves to be (esesthe) sons (huious) and (kai) daughters (thugateras) into (eis) Me (moi), says (legei) [the] Lord (kurios), [the] all powerful one (pantokratōr)!”
