1 THESSALONIANS

 

Chapter 3

3:2 And (kai) we sent (epempsamen) Timothy (Timotheon) the (ton) brother (adelphon) of us (hēmōn), and (kai) a worker together with (sunergon) the (tou) God (theou) in (en) the (tō) Evangelism (euangeliō) of the (tou) Christ (Christou), into (eis) the (to) [work] to stabilize (stērixai) you (humas), and (kai) to console (parakalesai) [you] over (huper) the (tēs) belief (pisteōs) of you (humōn).

 

3:3 The (to) [belief] of not one (mēdena) [is] to be shaken (sainesthai) in (en) these (tautais), the (tais) mental pressures (thlipsesin).

 

Because (gar) you have seen (oidate) of them (autoi) that (hoti) we are laid (keimetha) into (eis) this (touto) [evangelism of the Christ, v2];

 

3:4 and (kai) because (gar) when (hote) we were (ēmen) toward (pros) you (humas) we were saying before (proelegomen) to you (humin) that (hoti) we are about (mellomen) to be pressured (thlibesthai),

you have seen (oidate) [this] also (kai), down according to as (kathōs) it caused itself to come to pass (egeneto) also (kai).

 

3:5 And I (kagō), through (dia) this (touto), I no longer yet (mēketi) covering4722 (stegōn) [my costs], I sent (epempsa) [Timothy] into (eis) the (to) [work] to know (gnōnai) the (tēn) belief (pistin) of you (humōn), [that] not (mē) somehow (pōs) the (ho) one testing (peirazōn) tested (epeirasen) you (humas), and (kai) the (ho) labor (kopos) of us (hēmōn) may cause itself to become (genētai) into (eis) emptiness (kenon).

 

3:6 But (de) at this time (arti), of Timothy (Timotheou) having come (elthontos) to (pros) us (hēmas) from (aph’) you (humōn), and (kai) he having caused himself to evangelize (euangelisamenou) to us (hēmin) of the (tēn) belief (pistin) and (kai) love (agapēn) of you (humōn), and (kai) that (hoti) you have (echete) a good remembrance (agathēn mneian) of us (hēmōn), always (pantote) longing (epipothountes) to see (idein) us (hēmas), so be it down as (kathaper) we (hēmeis) also (kai) [long to see] you (humas)!

 

3:7 Through (dia) [the sake] of this (touto), brothers (adelphoi), through (dia) the (tēs) belief (pisteōs) of you (humōn), we were consoled (pareklēthēmen) over (eph’) you (humin), above (epi) all (pasē) the (tē) necessity (anagkē) and (kai) mental pressure (thlipsei) of us (hēmōn);

 

3:8 that (hoti) now (nun) we live (zōmen), if perhaps (ean) you (humeis) stand (stēkete) in (en) [the] lord (kuriō)!

 

3:9 Because (gar) what (tina) thanksgiving (eucharistian) can we inherently power ourselves (dunametha) to repay (antapodounai) to the (tō) God (theō) about (peri) you (humōn), over (epi) all (pasē) the (tē) joy (chara) for which (hē) we rejoice (chairomen) through (di’) [the sake] of you (humas), in front (emprosthen) of the (tou) God (theou) of us (hēmōn);

 

3:10 we causing ourselves to beg (deomenoi) more abundantly out over (huperekperissou) [you], night (nuktos) and (kai) day (hēmeras), into (eis) the (to) [longing, v6] to see (idein) the (to) face (prosōpon) of you (humōn);

 

and (kai) to make fit (katartisai) the (ta) things lacking (husterēmata) of the (tēs) belief (pisteōs) of you (humōn)?

 

3:11 But (de) the (ho) God (theos) Himself (autos), and (kai) Father (patēr) of us (hēmōn) and (kai) the (ho) lord (kurios) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsous), may He straighten down (kateuthunai) the (tēn) way (hodon) of us (hēmōn) to (pros) you (humas).

 

3:12 But (de) the (ho) lord (kurios) of you (humas), may he increase (pleonasai) [you], and (kai) may he make [you] abound (perisseusai) [in] the (tē) love (agapē) into (eis) one another (allēlous), and (kai) into (eis) all (pantas), so be it down as (kathaper) we (hēmeis) also (kai) [abound in love] into (eis) you (humas);

 

3:13 into (eis) the (to) [love] to stabilize (stērixai) the (tas) hearts (kardias) of you (humōn) [to be] faultless (amemptous), in (en) holiness (hagiōsunē) in front (emprosthen) of the (tou) God (theou) and (kai) Father (patros) of us (hēmōn), in (en) the (tē) presence (parousia) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou), together with (meta) all (pantōn) of the (tōn) holy ones (hagiōn) of him (autou), truly (amēn)!
