1 THESSALONIANS

Chapter 1

1:1 Paul (Paulos), and Silvanus (Silouanos), and Timothy (Timotheos), to the (tē) assembly (ekklēsia) of [the] Thessalonians (thessalonikeōn) in (en) God (theō), [the] Father (pater), and (kai) [in the] lord (kuriō) Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christō), grace (charis) to you (humin), and (kai) peace (eirēnē)

1:2 We give thanks well (eucharistoumen) to the (tō) God (theō) always (pantote), about (peri) all (pantōn);

we causing ourselves to make (poioumenoi) a remembrance (mneian) of you (humōn) upon (epi) the (tōn) prayers of well-thankfulness toward4335 (proseuchōn) [God] of us (humōn), unceasingly (adialeiptōs);

1:3 we remembering (mnēmoneuontes) the (tou) work (ergou) of the (tēs) belief (pisteōs) of you (humōn), and (kai) the (tou) labor (kopou) of the (tēs) love (agapēs) [of you], and (kai) the (tēs) endurance (hupomonēs) of the (tēs) hope (elpidos) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), in front (emprosthen) of the (tou) God (theou) and (kai) Father (patros) of us (hēmōn);

1:4 we having seen (eidotes), brothers (adelphoi), ones having been loved (ēgapēmenoi), the (tēn) calling out (eklogēn) of you (humōn) under (hupo) [authority] of the (tou) God (theou);

1:5 because (hoti) the (to) Evangelism (euangelion) of us (hēmōn) was absolutely not caused to become (ouk egenēthē) into (eis) you (humas) in (en) Word (logō) alone (monon), BUT (alla), in (en) inherent power (dunamei) and (kai) in (en) holy (hagiō) Spirit (pneumati) also (kai), and (kai) in (en) much (pollē) full lading (plērophoria) down according to as (kathōs) you have seen (oidate), [we being] ones such as (hoioi) we were caused to become (egenēthēmen) among (en) you (humin), through (di) [the sake] of you (humas)!

1:6 And (kai) you (humeis) were caused to become (egenēthēte) imitators (mimētai) of us (hēmōn), and (kai) of the (tou) lord (kuriou), you having caused yourselves to receive (dexamenoi) the (ton) Word (logon) in (en) much (pollē) mental pressure (thlipsei), with (meta) joy (charas) of holy (hagiou) Spirit (pneumatos);

1:7 and so (hōste) you (humas) caused yourselves to become (genesthai) a type5179 (tupon) to all (pasin) the ones (tois) believing (pisteuousin) in (en) the (tē) Macedonia (makedonia), and (kai) in (en) the (tē) Achaia (achaia).

1:8 Because (gar) from (aph’) you (humōn) the (ho) Word (logos) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) has been echoed out (exēchētai), absolutely not (ou) only (monon) in (en) the (tē) Macedonia (makedonia) and (kai) in (en) the (tē) Achaia (achaia), BUT (all), in (en) every (panti) place (topō) the (hē) belief (pistis) of you (humōn), the (hē) [belief] toward (pros) the (ton) God (theon), has come out (exelēluthen);

and so (hōste) we (hēmas) do not (mē) need (chreian) to have (echein) to speak (lalein) anything (ti)!

1:9 Because (gar) they (autoi) report (apangellousin) about (peri) us (hēmōn), of which sort (hopoian) of entrance (eisodon) we had (eschomen) to (pros) you (humas);

and (kai) how (pōs) you turned (epestrepsate) to (pros) the (ton) God (theon) away from (apo) the (tōn) idols (eidōlōn) to slave (douleuein) for a God (theō) living (zōnti) and (kai) true (alēthinō);

1:10 and (kai) to wait up (anamenein) [for] the (ton) son (huion) of Him (autou) out (ek) of the (tōn) heavens (ouranōn), whom (hon) He aroused (ēgeiren) out (ek) of the (tōn) dead ones (nekrōn), Jesus (Iēsoun), the one (ton) causing himself to rescue (rhuomenon) us (hēmas) out (ek) of the (tēs) anger (orgēs) of the one (tēs) causing himself to come (erchomenēs).
