1 CORINTHIANS

Chapter 5

5:1 Fornication (porneia) [is] wholly (holōs) heard (akouetai) [to be] among (en) you (humin), and (kai) fornication (porneia) like this (toiautē), which (hētis) but  absolutely not (oude) among (en) the (tois) ethnic groups (ethnesin), and so (hōste) of someone (tina) to have (echein) a female (gunaika) of the (tou) father (patros)!

5:2 And (kai) you (humeis) are (este) ones having been puffed up (pephusiōmenoi), and (kai) you absolutely did not mourn (ouchi epenthēsate) more (mallon), in order that (hina) the one (ho) having habitually practiced (praxas) the (to) work (ergon) of this (touto) may be removed (arthē) out (ek) [of the] midst (mesou) of you (humōn)!

5:3 Because (gar), truly (men), I (egō) am being away from (apōn) the (tō) body (sōmati).

But (de) I am being alongside (parōn) [of the body] [in] the (tō) Spirit (pneumati).

Thusly (houtōs), as (hōs) one being alongside (parōn), I have already judged (ēdē kekrika) the one (ton) having caused himself to work down (katergasamenon) this thing (touto).

5:4 In (en) the (tō) name (onomati) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsous), you having been brought together (sunachthentōn) of the (tou) Spirit (pneuma), [the Spirit] of you (humōn) and (kai) of me (emou), together with (sun) the (tē) inherent power (dunamei) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou),

5:5 [I have judged] to pass aside (paradounai) the one (ton) like this (toiouton) to the (tō) Satan (Satana), into (eis) ruin (olethron) of the (tēs) flesh (sarkos), in order that (hina) the (to) Spirit (pneuma) may be kept whole (sōthē) in (en) the (tē) day (hēmera) of the (tou) lord (kuriou).

5:6 The (to) boast (kauchēma) of you (humon) [is] absolutely not (ou) beautiful (kalon)

Have you absolutely not seen (ouk oidate) that (hoti) microscopic (mikra) leaven (zumē) leavens (zumoi) the (to) whole (holon) mix (phurama)!?

5:7 Clean out (ekkatharate) the (tēn) old (palaian) leaven (zumēn) in order that (hina) you may be (ēte) a new (neon) mix (phurama), down according to as (kathōs) you are (este) unleavened bread (azumoi).

Because (gar) the (to) Passover one (pascha) also (kai) of us (hēmōn), Christ (Christos), was sacrificed (etuthē).

5:8 And so (hōste) may we keep a feast (heortazōmen);

not (mē) in (en) old (palaia) leaven (zumē), but neither (mēde) in (en) leaven (mēde) of malice (kakias) and (kai) evil (ponērias);

BUT (all’), in (en) unleavened (azumois) clear judgment (eilikrineias), and (kai) Truth (alētheias)!

5:9 I wrote (egrapsa) to you (humin) in (en) the (tē) epistle (epistolē) not (mē) to mix up together with (sunanamignusthai) fornicators (pornois);

5:10 by all means (pantōs) absolutely not (ou) [with] the (tois) fornicators (pornois) of the (tou) cosmos (kosmou) of this (toutou), or (ē) [with] the (tois) covetous ones (pleonektais) and (kai) rapacious ones (harpaxin), or (ē) [with] idolaters (eidōlolatrais), else (ara) otherwise (epei) you owe (ōpheilete) to come out (exelthein) out (ek) of the (tou) cosmos (kosmou)!

5:11 But (de) now (nun) I wrote (egrapsa) to you (humin) not (mē) to mix up together with (sunanamignusthai) any (tis) brother (adelphos) if perhaps (ean) he may be (ē) being named (onomazomenos) a fornicator (pornos), or (ē) a covetous one (pleonektēs), or (ē) an idolater (eidōlolatrēs), or (ē) a reviler (loidoros), or (ē) a drunk one (methusos), or (ē) a rapacious one (harpax)!

The one (tō) like this (toioutō), you are not to eat together with (mēde sunesthiein) [him].

5:12 Because (gar) what (ti)?  [Is it] for me (moi) to judge (krinein) the ones (tous) outside (exō)?

Do you (humeis) absolutely not judge (ouchi krinete) the ones (tous) inside (esō)?

5:13 But (de) the ones (tous) outside (exō) the (ho) God (theos) judges (krinei).

Lift out (exarate) the (ton) evil (ponēron) of them (autōn) out (ex) of you (humōn)!
