ROMANS
Chapter 10
Update: 2024.06.22
Rom. 10:1 (LIT/UBS4) Brothers (adelphoi), truly (men), the (hē) good expectation (eudokia) of the (tēs) heart (kardias) of me (emēs), and (kai) the (hē) prayer of need (deēsis) to (pros) the (ton) God (theon) over (huper) [the sake, AE] of them (autōn) [is] into (eis) wholeness (sōtērian) [of them, RE]!
Rom. 10:2 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar), I witness (marturō) to them (autois) that (hoti) they have (echouson) [a] zeal (zēlon) of God (theou), BUT (all’), [[the] zeal, RE] [is] absolutely not (ou) down according to (kat’) experiential knowledge (epignōsin)!
Rom. 10:3 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar), of the (tēn) [Israel, v9:31, RE] being ignorant (agnoountes) of the (tou) righteousness (dikaiosunēn) of God (theou), and (kai) the (tēn) [Israel, v9:31, RE] searching (zētountes) to stand (stēsai) the (tēn) righteousness (dikaiosunēn) of her own (idian), they were absolutely not put in submission5293 (ouch hupetagēsan) to the (tē) righteousness (dikaiosunē) of the (tou) God (theou)!
Rom. 10:4 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar), [the] end (telos) of law (nomou) [is] [belief, v9:32, RE] of Christ (Christos) over (eis) [the sake, AE] of righteousness (dikaiosunēn), for everyone (panti), for the (tō) [brother, v1, RE] believing (pisteuonti)!
(For termination tax see Mat. 17:24-27; Rom. 6:12-23, 10:1-10, 13:1-11)
Rom. 10:5 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar), Moses (Mōusēs) writes (graphei) of the (tēn) righteousness (dikaiosunēn), of the (tēn) [righteousness, RE] out (ek) of the (tou) law (nomou), that (hoti) the (ho) mortal (anthrōpos) having done (poiēsas) them (auta) shall cause himself to live (zēsetai) in (en) them (autois).
Rom. 10:6 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) the (hē) righteousness (dikaiosunē) out (ek) of belief (pisteōs) says (legei) thusly (houtōs):
“Do not enunciate (mē eipēs) in (en) to the (tē) heart (kardia) of you (sou), ‘Who (tis) shall cause himself to step up (anabēsetai) into (eis) the (ton) heaven (ouranon) [for us, AE]’, this (tout’) is (estin) to lead down (katagagein) Christ (Christon),
Rom. 10:7 (LIT/UBS4) or (ē), ‘Who (tis) shall cause himself to step down (katabēsetai) into (eis) the (tēn) abyss (abbsson) [for us, AE]’, this (tout’) is (estin) to lead up (anagagein) Christ (Christon) out (ek) of dead ones (nekrōn)?”
Rom. 10:8 (LIT/UBS4) BUT (alla), what (ti) <does> [Moses, v5, RE] say (legei), “The (to) statement (rhēma) is (estin) near (eggus) you (sou), in (en) the (tō) mouth (stomati) of you (sou) and (kai) in (en) the (tē) heart (kardia) of you (sou)”!?
(See Deut. 30:12-14)
This (tout’) is (estin) the (to) statement (rhēma) of the (tēs) belief (pisteōs) which (ho) we preach (kērussomen);
Rom. 10:9 (LIT/UBS4) that (hoti), if perhaps (ean) you may confess alike (homologēsēs) in (en) the (tō) mouth (stomati) of you (sou), ‘Lord (kurion) Jesus (Iēsoun)’, and (kai) you may believe (pisteusēs) in (en) the (tē) heart (kardia) of you (sou) that (hoti) the (ho) God (theos) awoke (ēgeiren) him (auton) out (ek) of dead ones (nekrōn), you shall be made whole (sōthēsē)!
Rom. 10:10 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar), [a] heart (kardia) is caused to believe (pisteuetai) into (eis) righteousness (dikaiosunēn).
But (de) [a] mouth (stomati) is caused to confess alike (homologeitai), into (eis) wholeness (sōtērian)!
See Deut. 30:14)
Rom. 10:11 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) the (hē) writing (graphē) says (legei), “Everyone (pas), the one (ho) believing (pisteuōn) upon (ep’) him (autō), he shall absolutely not be put down to shame (ou kataischunthēsetai)!”
(See Isa. 28:16)
Rom. 10:12 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) there is (estin) absolutely not (ou) [an] alternation1293 (diastolē), both (te) of [a] Judean (Ioudaiou) and (kai) of [a] Hellene (Hellēnos)!
Because (gar) the one (ho) [aroused out of dead ones, v9, RE], he (autos) [is] lord (kurios) of all (pantōn), one becoming wealthy (ploutōn) into (eis) all (pantas) the ones (tous) causing themselves to call aloud upon (epikaloumenous) him (auton).
Rom. 10:13 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) everyone (pas), perhaps (an) whoever (hos) may call aloud upon (epikalesētai) the (to) name (onoma) [of the] lord (kuriou), shall be made whole (sōthēsetai).
(See Joel 2:32)
Rom. 10:14 (LIT/UBS4) Therefore (oun), how (pōs) may they cause themselves to call aloud upon (epikalesōntai) [the name of the lord, v13, ER] into (eis) whom (hon) they absolutely did not believe (ouk episteusan)!?
But (de) how (pōs) may they believe (pisteusōsin) [upon the name of the lord, v13, ER] of whom (hou) they absolutely did not hear (ouk ēkousan)!?
But (de) how (pōs) may they hear (akousōsin) [upon the name of the lord, v13, ER] without (chōris) preaching (kērussontos)?
Rom. 10:15 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) how (pōs) may they preach (kēruxōsin) [upon the name of the lord, v13, ER] if perhaps (ean) they may not be sent (mē apostalōsin)?
Down according to as (kathōs) it has been written (gegraptai), “How (hōs) timely (hōraioi) [are] the (hoi) feet (podes) of the ones (tōn) causing themselves to evangelize (euangelizomenōn) the (ta) good things (agatha)!?”
(See Isa. 52:7)
Rom. 10:16 (LIT/UBS4) BUT (all’), absolutely not (ou) all (pantes) obeyed (hupēkousan) the (tō) Evangelism (euangeliō)!
Because (gar) Isaiah (Hsaias) says (legei), “Lord (kurie, YHWH), who (tis) believed (episteusen) the (tē) [Word, RE] heard (akoē) of us (hēmōn)?”
(See Isaiah 53:1)
Rom. 10:17 (LIT/UBS4) So (ara) the (hē) belief (pistis) [is] out (ek) of [a] thing heard (akoēs);
but (de) the (hē) [Word, RE] heard (akoē) [is] through (dia) [a] statement (rhēmatos) of Christ (Christou)!
Rom. 10:18 (LIT/UBS4) BUT (alla), I say (legō) no (mē), they absolutely did not hear (ouk ēkousan)!
Therefore truly (menounge), the (ho) musical sound (phthongos) of them (autōn) came out (exēlthen) into (eis) all (pasan) the (tēn) land (gēn)!
And (kai) the (ta) statements (rhēmata) of them (autōn) [came out, RE] into (eis) the (ta) extreme parts (perata) of the (tēs) inhabited land (oikoumenēs)!
Rom. 10:19 (LIT/UBS4) BUT (alla), I say (legō) no (mē), Israel (Israēl) absolutely did not (ouk) know (egnō)!
First (prōtos) Moses (Mōusēs) says (legei), ‘I (egō) shall make you zealous alongside (parazēlōsō humas) over (ep’) absolutely not (ouk) [an] ethnic group (ethnei), [BUT, AE], I shall anger you (parorgiō humas) over (epi) [an] unintelligent (asunetō) ethnic group (ethnei)!’
(See Deut. 32:21)
Rom. 10:20 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) Isaiah (Hsaias) dares away (apotolma) and (kai) says (legei), “I was found (heurethēn) among (en) the ones (tois) not (mē) searching (zētousin) for me (eme);
I caused myself to become (egenomēn) one manifested (emphanēs) to the ones (tois) not (mē) inquiring over (eperōtōsin) [the sake, AE] of me (eme).”
(See Isa. 65:1)
Rom. 10:21 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) to (pros) the (ton) Israel (Israēl) [YHWH, vIsa. 65:7, RE] says (legei), “The (tēn) whole (holēn) day (hēmeran) I have flown out (exepetasa) the (tas) hands (cheiras) of me (mou) toward (pros) people (laon) being dissuaded (apeithounta), and (kai) speaking in opposition (antilegonta) [to me, RE].”
(See Isa. 65:2)
