Chapter 16

Rev. 16:1 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) [a] great (megalē) voice (phōnēs) out (ek) of the (tou) holy place (naou), saying (legousēs) to the (tois) seven (hepta) messengers (angelois), “Get underway (hupagete) and (kai) pour out (ekcheete) the (tas) seven (hepta) bowls (phialas) of the (tou) passion (thumou) of the (tou) God (theou) into (eis) the (tēn) land (gēn).”
The First Messenger
Rev. 16:2 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) first one (protōs) went away (apēlthen) and (kai) poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) into (eis) the (tēn) land (gēn).
And (kai) it caused itself to become (egeneto) [a] malicious (kakon) sore (helkos), and (kai) [an] evil one (ponēron) upon (epi) the (tous) mortals (anthrōpous);
the ones (tous) holding (echontas) the (to) character (charagma) of the (tou) wild animal (thēriou), and (kai) the ones (tous) bowing to4352 (proskunountas) the (tē) icon (eikoni) of it (autou).
The Second Messenger
Rev. 16:3 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) second (deuteros) [messenger, v1, RE] poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) into (eis) the (tēn) sea (thalassan).
And (kai) it caused itself to become (egeneto) as (hōs) blood (haima) of [a] dead one (nekrou).
And (kai) every (pasa) soul (psuchē) of life (zōēs) died away (apethanen), the ones (ta) in (en) the (tē) sea (thalassē).
The Third Messenger
Rev. 16:4 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) third one (tritos) poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) into (eis) the (tous) rivers (potamous), and (kai) the (tas) fountains (pēgas) of the (tōn) waters (hudatōn).
And (kai) it caused itself to become (egeneto) blood (haima).
Rev. 16:5 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) the (tou) messenger (angelou) of the (tōn) waters (hudatōn) saying (legontos), “You are (ei) the one (ho) being (ōn) [a] righteous one (dikaios), and (kai) the one (ho) [who, AE] was being (ēn) the (ho) dedicated one (hosios), because (hoti) you determined (ekrinas) these things (tauta);
Rev. 16:6 (LIT/UBS4) because (hoti) [the mortals, v2, RE] poured out (exechean) blood (haima) of holy ones (hagiōn), and (kai) of prophets (prophētōn), and (kai) you have given (dedōkas) blood (haima) to them (autois) to drink (piein).
They are (eisin) ones worthy (axioi) [of blood, RE]!
Rev. 16:7 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) [the messenger, v5, RE] of the (tōn) altar (thusiastēriou) saying (legontos), “Yes (nai) Lord (kurie), the (ho) God (theos), the one (ho) all powerful (pantokratōr), true (alēthinai) and (kai) righteous (dikaiai) [are] the (hai) judgments (kriseis) of you (sou).”

The Fourth Messenger
Rev. 16:8 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) fourth one (tetartos) poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) upon (epi) the (ton) sun (hēlion).
And (kai) [the sun, RE] was given (edothē) to it (autō) to burn (kaumatisai) the (tous) mortals (anthrōpous) in (en) fire (puri).
Rev. 16:9 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) great (mega) heat (kauma) burned (ekaumatisthēsan) the (hoi) mortals (anthrōpoi).
And (kai) they blasphemed (eblasphēmēsan) the (to) name (onoma) of the (tou) God (theou), the one (tou) having (echontos) authority (exousian) over (epi) the (tas) plagues (plēgas) of these (tautas).
And (kai) they absolutely did not repent (ou metenoēsan) to give (doumai) glory (doxan) to him (autō)!

The Fifth Messenger
Rev. 16:10 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) fifth one (pemptos) poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) upon (epi) the (ton) throne (thronon) of the (tou) wild animal (thēriou).
And (kai) the (hē) kingdom (basileia) of it (autou) caused itself to become (egeneto) darkened (eskotōmenē).
And (kai) they were being caused to chew (emasōnto) the (tas) tongues (glōssas) of them (autōn) out (ek) of the (tou) distress (ponou).
Rev. 16:11 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they blasphemed (eblasphēmēsan) the (ton) God (theou) of the (tou) heaven (ouranou) out (ek) of the (tōn) distresses (ponōn) of them (autōn), and (kai) out (ek) of the (tōn) sores (helkōn) of them (autōn).
And (kai) they absolutely did not repent (ou metenoēsan) out (ek) of the (tōn) works (ergōn) of them (autōn)!
The Sixth Messenger
Rev. 16:12 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) sixth one (hektos) poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) upon (epi) the (ton) river (potamon), the (ton) great one (megan), the (ton) Euphrates (Euphratēn), and (kai) the (to) water (hudōr) of it (autou) was dried out (exēranthē);
in order that (hina) the (hē) way (hodos) of the (tōn) kings (basileōn) may be made ready (hetoimasthē), the ones (tōn) from (apo) [the] rising up (anatolēs) of [the] sun (hēliou).
Rev. 16:13 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) I saw (eidon) three (tria) unclean (akatharta) spirits (pneumata), as (hōs) frogs (batrachoi), [come, AE], out (ek) of the (tou) mouth (stomatos) of the (tou) dragon (drakontos), and (kai) out (ek) of the (tou) mouth (stomatos) of the (tou) wild animal (thēriou), and (kai) out (ek) of the (tou) mouth (stomatos) of the (tou) false prophet (pseudoprophētou);
Rev. 16:14 (LIT/UBS4) because (gar) they are (eisin) spirits (pneumata) of little demons (daimoniōn), doing (poiounta) signs (sēmeia);
which (ha) [little demons, RE] are caused to go out (ekporeuesthai) upon (epi) the (tous) kings (basileis) of the (tēs) whole (holēs) inhabited land (oikoumenēs) to bring them together (sunagagein autous) into (eis) the (ton) war (polemon), the (tēs) [war, RE] of the (tēs) great (megalēs) day (hēmeras) of the (tou) God (theou), of the (tou) all powerful (pantokratoros) [God, RE]!
Rev. 16:15 (LIT/UBS4) “Behold (idou), I cause myself to come (erchomai) as (hōs) [a] thief (kleptēs)!
[A] happy one (makarios) [is] the one (ho) staying awake (grēgorōn) and (kai) watchfully keeping (tērōn) the (ta) outer garments (himatia) of him (autou), in order that (hina) he may not walk around (mē peripatē) [as, AE] [a] naked one (gumnos), and (kai) they may see (blepōsin) the (tēn) indecent behavior (aschēmosunēn) of him (autou).”
Rev. 16:16 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) he brought them together (sunēgagen autous) into (eis) the (ton) place (topon), the (ton) [place, RE] being called aloud (kaloumenon) Hebraïstically (Hebraïsti), ‘Armageddon’ (Harmagedōn).

The Seventh Messenger
Rev. 16:17 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) seventh one (hebdomos) poured out (execheen) the (tēn) bowl (phialēn) of it (autou) over (epi) the (ton) air (aera).
And (kai) [a] great (megalē) voice (phōnē) came out (exēlthen) out (ek) of the (tou) holy place (naou), from (apo) the (tou) throne (thronou), saying (legousa), “It has come to pass (gegonen)!”
Rev. 16:18 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) lightnings (astrapai), and (kai) noises (phōnai), and (kai) thunderings (brontai) caused themselves to come to pass (egenonto).
And (kai) [a] great (megas) earthquake (seismos) caused itself to come to pass (egeneto), such as (hoios) of which (hou) has absolutely not caused itself to come to pass (ouk egeneto) from (aph') [the time, AE] [a] mortal (anthrōpos) caused himself to become (egeneto) upon (epi) the (tēs) land (gēs)!
Thusly (houtō), [it, AE] [was] [a] great (megas) earthquake (seismos) that-sized (tēlikoutos)!
Rev. 16:19 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (hē) city (polis), the (hē) great one (megalē), caused itself to become (egeneto) into (eis) three (tria) parts (merē).
And (kai) the (hai) cities (poleis) of the (tōn) ethnics groups (ethnōn) fell (epesan).
And (kai) Babylon (Babulōn) the (hē) great (megalē) was remembered (emnēsthē) in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) God (theou), to give (dounai) to her (autē) the (to) cup (potērion) of the (tou) wine (oinou) of the (tou) passion (thumou) of the (tēs) anger (orgēs) of him (autou).
Rev. 16:20 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) every (pasa) island (nēsos) fled (ephugen), and (kai) mountains (orē) were absolutely not found (ouch heurethēsan)!
Rev. 16:21 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) great (megalē) hail (chalaza), as (hōs) [a] talent (talantiaia), comes down (katabainei) out (ek) of the (tou) heaven (ouranou) upon (epi) the (tous) mortals (anthrōpous).
And (kai) the (hoi) mortals (anthrōpoi) blasphemed (eblasphēmēsan) the (ton) God (theon), out (ek) of the (tēs) plague (plēgēs) of the (tēs) hail (chalazēs);
because (hoti) extremely (sphodra) great (megalē) is (estin) the (hē) plague (plēgē) of her (autēs).
