The Fifth Trumpet Sounds
The First Woe Comes
Rev. 9:1 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) fifth (pemptos) messenger (angelos) trumpeted (esalpisen).
And (kai) I saw (eidon) [a] star (astera) out (ek) of the (tou) heaven (ouranou) having fallen (peptōkota) into (eis) the (tēn) land (gēn).
And (kai) the (hē) key (kleis) of the (tou) pit (phreatos) of the (tēs) abyss (abussou) was given (edothē) to it (autō).
Rev. 9:2 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) it opened up (ēnoixen) the (to) pit (phrear) of the (tēs) abyss (abbssou).
And (kai) smoke (kapnos) went up (anebē) out (ek) of the (tou) pit (phreatos), as (hōs) smoke (kapnos) of [a] great (megalēs) furnace (kaminou).
And (kai) the (ho) sun (hēlios) and (kai) the (ho) air (aēr) was darkened (eskotōthē) out (ek) of the (tou) smoke (kapnou) of the (tou) pit (phreatos).
Rev. 9:3 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) locusts (akrides) came out (exēlthon) out (ek) of the (tou) smoke (kapnou) into (eis) the (tēn) land (gēn).
And (kai) authority (exousia) was given (edothē) to them (autais), as (hōs) the (hoi) scorpions (skorpioi) of the (tēs) land (gēs) hold (echousin) authority (exousian).
Rev. 9:4 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) it was stated (errethē) to them (autais) that (hina) they shall not do unrighteousness (mē adikēsousin) to the (ton) fodder (chorton) of the (tēs) land (gēs), but absolutely not (oude) to any (pan) pale-green thing (chlōron), but absolutely not (oude) to any (pan) tree (dendron), if (ei) not (mē) to the (tous) mortals (anthrōpous), the ones who (hoitines) absolutely do not (ouk) have (echousi) the (tēn) seal (sphragida) of the (tou) God (theou) upon (epi) the (tōn) foreheads (metōpōn) [of them, AE]!
Rev. 9:5 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) [[the] statement, v4, RE] was given (edothē) to them (autois) in order that (hina) they may not kill (mē apokteinōsin) them (autous), BUT (all’), that (hina) they shall be tormented (basanisthēsontai) five (pente) moons (mēnas)!
And (kai) the (ho) torment (basanismos) of them (autōn) [was] as (hōs) [the] torment (basanismos) of [a] scorpion (skorpiou), when perhaps (hotan) it may hit (paisē) [a] mortal (anthrōpon).
Rev. 9:6 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) in (en) the (tais) days (hēmerais) for those things (ekeinais) the (hoi) mortals (anthrōpoi) shall search (zētēsoun) for the (ton) death (thanaton), and (kai) no (mē), they shall absolutely not find (ou heurēsousin) it (auton)!
And (kai) they shall lust (epithumēsousin) to die away (apothanein), and (kai) the (ho) death (thanatos) flees (phugei) from (ap’) them (autōn).
Rev. 9:7 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ta) likenesses (homoiōmata) of the (tōn) locusts (akridōn) [were] ones like (homoia) horses (hippois) having been made ready (hētoimasmenois) into (eis) war (polemon).
And (kai) upon (epi) the (tas) heads (kephalas) of them (autōn) [were] as (hōs) crowns (stephanoi), ones like (homoioi) gold (chrusō).
And (kai) the (ta) faces (prosōpa) of them (autōn) [were] as (hōs) faces (prosōpa) of mortals (anthrōpōn).
Rev. 9:8 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they were having (eichon) hair (trichas) as (hōs) hair (trichas) of females (gunaikōn).
And (kai) the (hoi) teeth (odontes) of them (autōn) were being (ēsan) as (hōs) of lions' (leontōn) [teeth, RE].
Rev. 9:9 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they were having (eichon) chest plates (thōrakas) as (hōs) iron (sidērous) chest plates (thōrakas).
And (kai) the (hē) sound (phōnē) of the (tōn) wings (pterugōn) of them (autōn) [was] as (hōs) [the] sound (phōnē) of many (pollōn) chariots (harmatōn) of horses (hippōn) running (trechontōn) into (eis) war (polemon).
Rev. 9:10 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they have (echousin) tails (ouras) like (homoias) scorpions (skorpiois), and (kai) goads (kentra).
And (kai) in (en) the (tais) tails (ourais) of them (autōn) [is] the (hē) authority (exousia) of them (autōn) to do unrighteousness (adikēsai) to the (tous) mortals (anthrōpous), for five (pente) moons (mēnas).
Rev. 9:11 (LIT/UBS4) They have (echousin) over (ep’) them (autōn) [a] king (basilea), the (ton) messenger (angelon) of the (tēs) abyss (abussou);
[a/the] name (onoma) [given, AE] to him (autō) Hebraïstically (Hebraïsti) [was] Abaddon (Abaddōn).
And (kai) in (en) the (tē) Hellenic (Hellēnikē) it has (echei) [a/the] name (onoma) ‘Apollyon’ (Apolluōn).
Rev. 9:12 (LIT/UBS4) The (hē) ‘Woe’ (ouai), the (hē) first (mia) [woe, RE], went away (apēlthen).
Behold (idou), two (duo) ‘Woes’ (ouai) [are] yet (eti) [to come, AE], [each, AE] causes itself to come (erchetai) with (meta) [the passing, AE) of these things (tauta)!

The Sixth Trumpet Sounds
The Second Woe Comes
Rev. 9:13 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) sixth (hektos) messenger (angelos) trumpeted (esalpisen).
And (kai) I heard (ēkousa) [a] sound (phōnēn) out (ek) of one (mian) of the (tōn) four (tessarōn) horns (keratōn) of the (tou) alter (thusiastēriou), of the (tou) golden one (chrusou), of the (tou) [alter, RE] in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) God (theou),
Rev. 9:14 (LIT/UBS4) saying (legonta) to the (tō) sixth (hektō) messenger (angelō), the one (ho) holding (echōn) the (tēn) trumpet (salpinga), “Over (epi) the (tō) river (potamō), the (tō) great (megalō) Euphrates (Euphratē), let loose (luson) of the (tous) four (tessaras) messengers (angelous), the ones (tous) having been bound (dedemenous).”
Rev. 9:15 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (hoi) four (tessares) messengers (angeloi) were let loose (eluthēsan), the ones (hoi) having been made ready (hētoimasmenoi) into (eis) the (tēn) hour (hōran), and (kai) day (hēmeran), and (kai) moon (mēna), and (kai) year (eniauton), in order that (hina) they may kill (apokteinōsin) the (to) third (triton) of the (tōn) mortals (anthrōpōn).
Rev. 9:16 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ho) number (arithmos) of the (tōn) armies (strateumatōn) of the (tou) horse (hippikou) [were] twice ten thousands (dismuriades) of ten thousands (muriadōn), [which, AE] I heard (ēkousa) [to be] the (ton) number (arithmon) of them (autōn).
Rev. 9:17 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) thusly (houtōs) I saw (eidon) the (tous) horses (hippous) in (en) the (tē) vision (horasei), and (kai) the ones (tous) causing themselves to sit down (kathēmenous) upon (ep’) them (autōn) having (echontas) fiery (purinos) chest plates (thōrakas), and (kai) ones of hyacinth (huakinthinous), and (kai) ones of sulfur (theiōdeis).
And (kai) the (hai) heads (kephalai) of the (tōn) horses (hippōn) [were] as (hōs) heads (kephalai) of lions (leontōn).
And (kai) out (ek) of the (tōn) mouths (stomatōn) of them (autōn) fire (pur) is caused to go out (ekporeuetai), and (kai) smoke (kapnos), and (kai) sulfur (theion).
Rev. 9:18 (LIT/UBS4) From (apo) the (tōn) three (triōn) plagues (plēgōn) of these (toutōn) the (to) third (triton) of the (tōn) mortals (anthrōpōn) were killed (apektanthēsan):
out (ek) of the (tou) [plague, ER] of fire (puros), and (kai) [out, ER] of the (tou) [plague, ER] of smoke (kapnou), and (kai) [out, ER] of the (tou) [plague, ER] of sulfur (theiou), of the (tou) [plagues, ER] being caused to go out (ekporeuomenou) out (ek) of the (tōn) mouths (stomatōn) of them (autōn).
Rev. 9:19 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) the (he) authority (exousia) of the (tōn) horses (hippōn) is (estin) in (en) the (tō) mouths (stomati) of them (autōn), and (kai) in (en) the (tais) tails (ourais) of them (autōn).
Because (gar) the (hai) tails (ourai) of them (autōn) [are] ones like (homoiai) serpents (ophesin).
And (kai) they having (echousai) heads (kephalas), in (en) them (autais) they do unrighteousness (adikousin).
Rev. 9:20 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (hoi) remaining ones (loipoi) of the (tōn) mortals (anthrōpōn), the ones (hoi) absolutely not (ouk) killed (apektanthēsan) in (en) the (tais) plagues (plēgais), these (tautais) [mortals, RE], but absolutely not (oude) did they repent (metenoēsan) out (ek) of the (tōn) works (ergōn) of the (tōn) hands (cheirōn) of them (autōn);
in order that (hina) they shall not bow to4352 (mē proskunēsosin) the (ta) little demons (daimonia) and (kai) idols (eidola), the ones (ta) [being] gold (chrusa), and (kai) the ones (ta) [being] silver (argura), and (kai) the ones (ta) [being] copper (chalka), and (kai) the ones (ta) [being] stone (lithina), and (kai) the ones (ta) [being] wooden (xulina), which ones (ha) <can> absolutely not also (oute) inherently power themselves (dunantai) to see (blepein), absolutely not also (oute) to hear (akouein), absolutely not also (oute) to walk around (peripatein)!
Rev. 9:21 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) they absolutely did not repent (ou metenoēsan) out (ek) of the (tōn) murders (phonōn) of them (autōn), and absolutely not (oute) out (ek) of the (tōn) druggings (pharmakeiōn) of them (autōn), and absolutely not (oute) out (ek) of the (tēs) fornication (porneias) of them (autōn), and absolutely not (oute) out (ek) of the (tōn) thefts (klemmatōn) of them (autōn)!
