REVELATION

 

Chapter 4

Rev. 4:1 (LIT/UBS4) With (meta) [the passing, AE] of these things (tauta) I saw (eidon), and (kai) behold (idou), [there, AE] [was] [a] door (thura) having been opened up (ēneōgmenē) in (en) the (tō) heaven (ouranō)!  

 

And (kai) the (hē) voice (phōnē), the (hē) first one (prōtē) which (hēn) I heard (ēkousa), [was] as (hōs) of [a] trumpet (salpingos) speaking (lalousēs) with (met’) me (emou), saying (legōn), “Step up (anaba) here (hōde), and (kai) I shall thoroughly show (deixō) to you (soi) things which (ha) are required (dei) to cause themselves to come to pass (genesthai) with (meta) [the passing, AE] of these things (tauta).”

 

Rev. 4:2 (LIT/UBS4) Straightaway (eutheōs) I caused myself to become (egenomēn) in (en) Spirit (pneuma).  

 

And (kai) behold (idou), [there, AE] [was] [a] throne (thronos) being laid (ekeito) in (en) the (tō) heaven (ouranō), and (kai) [there, AE] [was] one causing himself to sit down (kathēmenos) upon (epi) the (ton) throne (thronon)!

 

Rev. 4:3 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenos) [was] one like (homoios), [in, AE] [a] vision (horasei), to [a] jasper (iaspidi) and (kai) to [a] sardius (Sardiō) stone (lithō).  

 

And (kai) [there, AE] [was] [an] iris (iris) circling (kuklothen) the (tou) throne (thronou), one like (homoios), [in, AE]  [a] vision (horasei), to [an] emerald (smaragdinō).

 

Rev. 4:4 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) circling (kuklothen) the (tou) throne (thronou) [there, AE] [were] twenty (eikosi) four (tessares) thrones (thronous).  

 

And (kai) upon (epi) the (tous) thrones (thronous) [there, AE] [were] twenty (eikosi) four (tessares) elders (presbuterous) causing themselves to sit down (kathēmenous), having thrown around themselves (peribeblēmenous) outer garments (himatiois) in (en) white (leukois).  

 

And (kai) upon (epi) the (tas) heads (kephalas) of them (autōn) [there, AE] [were] gold (chrusous) crowns (stephanous).

 

Rev. 4:5 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) out (ek) of the (tou) throne (thronou) are caused to go out (ekporeuontai) lightnings (astrapai), and (kai) noises (phōnai), and (kai) thunderings (brontai).  

 

And (kai) [there, AE] [were] seven (hepta) torches (lampades) of fire (puros) burning (kaiomenai) in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) throne (thronou), which (ha) are (eisin) the (ta) seven (hepta) spirits (pneumata) of the (tou) God (theou).

 

Rev. 4:6 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) throne (thronou) [there, AE] [was] as (hōs) [a] transparent (hualinē) sea (thalassa), one like (homoia) [a] crystal (krustallō).  

 

And (kai) in (en) [the] midst (mesō) of the (tou) throne (thronou), and (kai) circularly around (kuklō) the (tou) throne (thronou), [there, AE] [were] four (tessara) living things (zōa), ones being fully loaded (gemonta) of eyes (ophthalmōn), in front (emprosthen) and (kai) behind (opisthen).

 

Rev. 4:7 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (to) living thing (zōon), the (to) first one (prōton), [was] one like (homoion) [a] lion (leonti).

 

And (kai) the (to) second (deuteron) living thing (zōon) [was] one like (homoion) [a] young offspring (moschō).  

 

And (kai) the (to) third (triton) living thing (zōon) is having (echōn) the (to) face (prosōpon) as (hōs) of [a] mortal (anthrōpou).  

 

And (kai) the (to) fourth (tetarton) living thing (zōon) [was] one like (homoion) [an] eagle (aetō) causing itself to fly (petomenō).

Rev. 4:8 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ta) four (tessara) living things (zōa), down (kath’) one (hen) [by, AE] one (hen) of them (autōn), were holding (echōn) up (ana) six (hex) wings (pterugas).  

 

And (kai) circling (kuklothen) inwardly (esōthen) they are fully loaded (gemousin) of eyes (ophthalmōn).  

 

And (kai) they absolutely do not have (ouk echousin) [a] time of resting up (anapausin), day (hēmeras) and (kai) night (nuktos), saying (legontes), "Holy one (hagios), holy one (hagios), holy one (hagios), Lord (kurios), the (ho) God (theos), the (ho) all powerful one (pantokratōr);

 

the one (ho) being (ōn), and (kai) the one (ho) [who, AE] was being (ēn), and (kai) the one (ho) causing himself to come (erchomenos)!"

 

Rev. 4:9 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) when perhaps (hotan) the (ta) living things (zōa) shall give (dōsousin) glory (doxan), and (kai) honor (timēn), and (kai) thanksgiving (eucharistian) to the one (tō) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenō) upon (epi) the (tō) throne (thronō), the one (tō) living (zōnti) into (eis) the (tous) ages (aiōnas) of the (tōn) ages (aiōnōn),

 

Rev. 4:10 (LIT/UBS4) the (hoi) twenty (eikosi) four (tessares) elders (presbuteroi) shall cause themselves to fall4098 (pesountai) in sight (enōpion) of the one (tou) causing himself to sit down (kathēmenou) upon (epi) the (tou) throne (thronou), and (kai) they shall bow to4352 (proskunēsousin) the one (tō) living (zōnti) into (eis) the (tous) ages (aiōnas) of the (tōn) ages (aiōnōn).

 

And (kai) they shall throw (balousin) the (tous) crowns (stephanous) of them (autōn) in sight (enōpion) of the (tou) throne (thronou), saying (legontes),

 

Rev. 4:11 (LIT/UBS4) "You are (ei) [a] worthy one (axios), the (ho) Lord (kurios) and (kai) the (ho) God (theos) of us (hēmōn), to receive (labein) the (tēn) glory (doxan), and (kai) the (tēn) honor (timēn), and (kai) the (tēn) inherently powered work (dunamin), because (gar) you (su) created (ektisas) all the things (ta panta).  

 

And (kai) through (dia) the (to) desire (thelēma) of you (sou) they were created (ektisthēsan), and (kai) they were being (ēsan).”
