Update:  2024.09.23

1 Cor. 1:1 (LIT/UBS4) [From, AE] Paul (Paulos), [a] called aloud (klētos) apostle (apostolos) of Christ (Christou) Jesus (Iēsou) through (dia) [a] desire (thelēmatos) of God (theou), and (kai) [from, AE] the (ho) brother (adelphos) Sosthenes (Sōsthenēs),

1 Cor. 1:2 (LIT/UBS4) to the (tē) assembly (ekklēsia) of the (tou) God (theou), the (tē) [assembly, RE] being (ousē) in (en) Corinth (Korinthō),

[to the assembly, RE] having been made holy (hēgiasmenois) in (en) Christ (Christō) Jesus (Iēsou), called aloud (klētois) holy ones (hagiois), together with (sun) all (pasin) the ones (tois) causing themselves to call aloud upon (epikaloumenois) the (to) name (onoma) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), in (en) every (panti) place (topō) of them (autōn) and (kai) of us (hēmōn),

1 Cor. 1:3 (LIT/UBS4) grace (charis) [be] to you (humin), and (kai) peace (eirēnē), from (apo) God (theou), Father (patros) of us (hēmōn), and (kai) [from, RE] lord (kuriou) Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou).

1 Cor. 1:4 (LIT/UBS4) I always give thanks well (eucharistō pantote) to the (tō) God (theō) of me (mou) about (peri) you (humōn), over (epi) [the sake, AE] of the (tē) grace (chariti) of the (tou) God (theou), the (tē) [grace, RE] having been given (dotheisē) to you (humin) in (en) Christ (christo) Jesus (Iēsou),

1 Cor. 1:5 (LIT/UBS4) that (hoti) in (en) everything (panti) you were made wealthy (eploutisthēte) in (en) him (autō), in (en) all (panti) Word (logō), and (kai) all (panti) knowledge (gnōsie),

1 Cor. 1:6 (LIT/UBS4) down according to as (kathōs) the (to) witness (marturion) of the (tou) Christ (Christou) was established (ebebaiōthē) in (en) you (humin).

1 Cor. 1:7 (LIT/UBS4) And so (hōste) you (humas) [are] not (mē) to lack (hustereisthai) in (en) not one (mēdeni) [of the] gracious things (charismati),

(See 1 Cor. 12:4, 9b)

causing yourselves to receive out from (apekdechomenous) the (tēn) revelation (apokalupsin) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou);

1 Cor. 1:8 (LIT/UBS4) who (hos) shall establish (bebaiōsei) also (kai) you (humas), until (heōs) [the] completion (telous), [to be] unquestionable (anegklētous) in (en) the (tē) day (hēmera) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou)!

(For all those who have received a new birth above in God’s promised gift of his paternal holy Spirit (Lev. 26:11-12; John 3:3-8; Acts 1:4; 2 Cor. 6:16-18; *1 Pet. 1:23), and for those paternal sons being taught by God (YHWH) himself, see Isa. 54:13; Jer. 31:31-34; Luke 12:12; John 5:19-20, 6:45, 14:26, 15:26, 16:13-14; 1 Cor. 1:4-8, 2:10, 12:8; 2 Cor. 5:19; Gal. 1:12; Eph. 4:20-21; 1 Thes. 4:9; 2 Tim. 2:7; Heb. 8:8-12, 10:16-17; James 1:5-6; 1 John 2:27, 5:20)

(For apostle Paul, and other apostles, receiving revelation from Christ Jesus for much of what they preached and taught, see Luke 2:32; Rom. 16:25-27; 1 Cor. 1:4-8; 2 Cor. 12:1; Gal. 1:12, 2:1-2; Eph. 3:3; 1 Pet. 1:13; Rev. 1:1-2.)

1 Cor. 1:9 (LIT/UBS4) The (to) God (theos) [is] [a] believable (pistos) [God, RE], through (di’) whom (hou) you were called aloud (eklēthēte) into (eis) fellowship (koinōnian) of the (tou) son (huiou) of him (autou), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), [into fellowship, RE] of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn)!

1:10 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) I accost (parakalō) you (humas), brothers (adelphoi), through (dia) the (tou) name (onomatos) of the (tou) lord (kuriou) of us (hēmōn), Jesus (Iēsou) Christ (Christou), in order that (hina) all (pantes) may speak (legēte) the (to) same (auto) [word, v5, RE];

and (kai) there may not be (mē ē) schisms (schismata) among (en) you (humin);

but (de) you may be (ēte) ones having been made fit (katērtismenoi), in (en) the (tō) same (autō) mind (noi) and (kai) in (en) to the (tē) same (autē) thinking (gnōmē).

1 Cor. 1:11 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) it was made obvious (edēlōthē) to me (moi) about (peri) you (humōn), brothers (adelphoi) of me (mou), of the ones (tōn) under (hupo) [authority, AE] of Chloe (Chloēs), that (hoti) there are (eisin) rivalries (erides) among (en) you (humin).

(For the teachings and ministry of Jesus Christ affecting division among the people of Israel, see Mat. 3:10-12, 10:34-39; Luke 2:34, 3:9, 16-17, 12:49-53; John 7:43, 9:16, 10:19, 15:6; 2 Thes. 1:8-9; Heb. 1:7; and division among the ethnic groups, see 1 Cor. 1:10-11, 11:18-19, 12:25)

1 Cor. 1:12 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) I say (legō) this (touto), that (hoti) each one (hekastos) of you (humōn) says (legei), ‘I (egō), truly (men), am (eimi) of Paul (Paulou)’;

but (de), ‘I (egō) [am] of Apollos (Apollō)’;

but (de), ‘I (egō) [am] of Cephas (Kēpha)’;

but (de), ‘I (egō) [am] of Christ (Christou)’!

1 Cor. 1:13 (LIT/UBS4) Has the (ho) Christ (Christos) been divided (memeristai)?

Paul (Paulos) was not staked (mē estaurōthē) over (huper) [the sake, AE] of you (humōn)

Or (ē), were you baptized (ebaptisthēte) into (eis) the (to) name (onoma) of Paul (Paulou)?

1 Cor. 1:14 (LIT/UBS4) I give thanks well (eucharistō) to the (tō) God (theō) that (hoti) I baptized (ebaptisa) absolutely not one (oudena) of you (humōn), if (ei) not (mē) Crispus (Krispon) and (kai) Gaius (Gaion),

1 Cor. 1:15 (LIT/UBS4) in order that (hina) not (mē) anyone (tis) may enunciate (eipē) that (hoti) into (eis) the (to) name (onoma) of me (emon) you were baptized (ebaptisthēte)!

1 Cor. 1:16 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) I baptized (ebaptisa) the (ton) house (oikon) of Stephanas (Stephana) also (kai)

[Of the] remainder (loipon), I have absolutely not seen (ouk oida) if (ei) I baptized (ebaptisa) any (tina) other one (allon)!

1 Cor. 1:17 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) Christ (Christos) sent (apesteilen) me (me) absolutely not (ou) to baptize (baptizein), BUT (alla), to cause myself to evangelize (euangelizesthai);

[to evangelize, RE] absolutely not (ouk) in (en) wisdom (sophia) of word (logou), in order that (hina) the (ho) stake (stauros) of the (tou) Christ (Christou) may not be made empty (mē kenōthē)!

1 Cor. 1:18 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) the (ho) Word (logos), the (ho) [Word, RE] of the (tou) stake (staurou), to the ones (tois) being destroyed (apollumenois), truly (men) [the Word, RE] is (estin) moronism (mōria)

But (de) the (tois) [Word, RE] to us (hēmin) being made whole (sōzomenois), [the Word, RE] is (estin) inherently powered (dunamis) of God (theou)

(Jesus said that each statement he spoke was Spirit and life (John 6:63-64))

1 Cor. 1:19 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) it has been written (gegraptai), “I shall destroy (apolō) the (tēn) wisdom (sophian) of the (tōn) wise ones (sophōn);

and (kai) the (tēn) intelligence (sunesin) of the (tōn) intelligent ones (sunetōn) I shall displace (athetēsō).”

(See Isa. 29:14)

1 Cor. 1:20 (LIT/UBS4) Where (pou) [is] [a] wise one (sophos)?

Where (pou) [is] [a] writer (grammateus)?

Where (pou) [is] [an] investigator (suzētētēs) of the (tou) age (aiōnos) of this (toutou)?

Has the (ho) God (theos) absolutely not (ouchi) made moronic (emōranen) the (tēn) wisdom (sophian) of the (tou) cosmos (kosmou)!?

1 Cor. 1:21-22 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) if since (epeidē) the (ho) cosmos (kosmos), through (dia) the (tēs) wisdom (sophias) [of the cosmos, RE], absolutely did not know (ouk egnō) the (ton) God (theon), and (kai) if since (epeidē) Judeans (Ioudaioi) request (aitousin) signs (sēmeia), and (kai) Hellenes (Hellēnes) search (zētousin) for wisdom (sophian), [then, AE] in (en) the (tē) wisdom (sophia) of the (tou) God (theou) the (ho) God (theos) well-approved (eudokēsen), through (dia) the (tēs) moronism (mōrias) of the (tou) preaching (kērugmatos), to make whole (sōsai) the ones (tous) believing (pisteuontas)!

1 Cor. 1:23 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) we (hēmeis) preach (kērussomen) Christ (Christon) having been staked (estaurōmenon)

Truly (men), to Judeans (Ioudaiois) [we preach, RE] scandal (skandalon)!

But (de) to ethnic groups (ethnesin) [we preach, RE] moronism (mōrian).

1 Cor. 1:24 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) to them (autois), to the (tois) ones called aloud (klētois), both (te) to Judeans (Ioudaiois) and (kai) to Hellenes (Hellēsin), [we preach, v23, RE] Christ (Christon), [the] inherent power (dunamin) of God (theou), and (kai) wisdom (sophian) of God (theou);

(the Wisdom of the God – a title of Christ Jesus, the firstborn son of the God. See Mat. 11:19, 12:42, 13:54; Mark 6:2; Luke 2:40, 52, 7:35, 11:31, 11:49, 21:15; Acts 6:3, 9-10, 7:10; *1 Cor. 1:24, 30, 2:4-8, 13, 12:8a; Eph. 1:17-18, *3:8-12; Col. 3:16; James 1:5-6, 3:17; Rev. 5:12.)

1 Cor. 1:25 (LIT/UBS4) because (hoti) the (to) moronic one (mōron) of the (tou) God (theou) is (esti) [a] wiser one than (sophōteron) the (tōn) mortals (anthrōpōn);

and (kai) the (ta) disabled one (asthenes) of the (tou) God (theou) is (esti) [a] stronger one than (ischuroteron) the (tēn) mortals (anthrōpōn).

1 Cor. 1:26 (LIT/UBS4) Because (gar) look at (blepete) the (tēn) calling (klēsin) of you (humōn), brothers (adelphoi), that (hoti) down according to (kata) flesh (sarka) [there, AE] [are] absolutely not (ou) many (polloi) wise ones (sophoi);

[there, AE] [are] absolutely not (ou) many (polloi) inherently powerful ones (dunatoi);

[there, AE] [are] absolutely not (ou) many (polloi) well-begun ones (eugeneis)!

1 Cor. 1:27 (LIT/UBS4) BUT (alla), the (ho) God (theos) caused himself to call out (exelexato) the (ta) moronic ones (mōra) of the (tou) cosmos (kosmou), in order that (hina) he may put down to shame (kataischunē) the (tous) wise ones (sophous)

And (kai) the (ho) God (theos) caused himself to call out (exelexato) the (ta) disabled ones (asthenē) of the (tou) cosmos (kosmou), in order that (hina) he may put down to shame (kataischunē) the (ta) strong ones (ischura)!

1 Cor. 1:28 (LIT/UBS4) And (kai) the (ta) unwell-begun ones (agenē) of the (tou) cosmos (kosmou), and (kai) the ones (ta) having been rejected as absolutely nothing (exouthenēmena), the (ho) God (theos) caused himself to call out (exelexato)!

And (kai) [the God caused himself to call out, RE] the ones (ta) not (mē) being (onta), in order that (hina) he may idle down2673 (katargēsē) the ones (ta) being (onta);

1 Cor. 1:29 (LIT/UBS4) so that (hopēs) not (mē) any (pasa) flesh (sarx) may cause itself to boast (kauchēsētai) in sight (enōpion) of him (autou)!

1:30 (LIT/UBS4) But (de) out (ek) of him (autou) you (humeis) are (este) in (en) Christ (Christō) Jesus (Iōsou);

who (hos) was caused to become (egenēthē) for us (hōmin) wisdom (sophia) from (apo) God (theou);

and (te) righteousness (dikaiosunē);

and (kai) holiness (hagiasmos);

and (kai) redemption (apolutrōsis);

1 Cor. 1:31 (LIT/UBS4) in order that (hina), down according to as (kathōs) it has been written (gegraptai), “The one (ho) causing himself to boast (kauchōmenos), let him cause himself to boast (kauchasthō) in (en) [the] Lord (Kuriō, YHWH)!”

(See Jer. 9:23-24)
