MY STATEMENT OF BELIEF

I
believe that there is one supreme being, who, according to his Word, identifies
himself with various names, YHVH, Elohim, etc., who is commonly referred to as
“God”, who created the heavens, earth, and all things therein; and moreover,
his creation is a witness to his existence, but moreover, to his power and his
glory.
I
believe YHWH Elohim’s Word when he states that he alone is the one and only
true God, and beside him is no other god (Deut. 4:35; Isa. 44:6; Mat.
12:29; Gal. 3:20; 1 Tim. 2:5; Rev. 22:9).
I believe that what is commonly referred to as the Bible, that book which is divided into 66 books, contains God’s Word and God’s will for his creation.
I
believe that God’s Word didn’t come to mortalkind due to any initiative of
mortalkind, but is totally due to the love and grace of God (2 Pet. 1:20-21);
and that God’s Word is infallible; and that any perceived fallibility of
God’s Word on the part of mortals is due to our own mishandling of it, and
lack of knowledge and understanding of it.
I
believe the greatest critic of God’s Word as to its interpretation, and the
final critic of all, is God’s Word itself, through study and comparison of
those parts of it which correspond with one another by subject matter.
I
believe that God’s Word is Truth (John 17:17); and moreover, those great and
precious promises he gives to mortalkind in his Word (2 Pet. 1:2-4) are
available to come to pass in anyone’s life (Heb. 11), anyone who chooses to believe
(Mark 11:24), ask (James 4:2), and who remains pleasing in his
sight (1 John 3:22).
I
believe that God’s Word is the only true standard of requirements which
mortals must believe and practice to become and remain pleasing to God (Heb. 11:6).
I
believe that when mortals think, say and do things which
fall outside of the boundaries of acceptability to God, according to his Word,
that those thoughts, words and actions demonstrate sin.
I
believe that Jesus Christ is the firstborn son of God; and that God, the Father of him,
sent his son to pay the penalty for the sin of mortalkind (John 3:16); and
moreover, that mortalkind may have life beyond whatever evil the devil, the
"thief", may try to do to us (John
10:10; 1 Cor. 1:30).
I
believe that the spirit-based being God (John 4:24), was in the soul-based being Jesus Christ
(1Tim. 2:5), reconciling the cosmos to himself (2
Cor. 5:19).
I
believe a mortal who becomes reconciled to God the heavenly Father, becomes reconciled
only through belief in his heart upon
the name of God’s firstborn son, Jesus, and confession with his mouth of the name of God’s son, Jesus (Rom.
10:9-10).
I
believe that through a mortal’s repentance to God of his sin, through belief
and confession of the name of JESUS, that a mortal becomes acceptable to God;
and moreover, becomes a son of God through a new birth above in God’s
Spirit (John 3; Acts 2:14-), through baptism in holy Spirit from
Christ Jesus (Mat. 3:11; Mark. 1:8; Luke 3:16); and moreover, that mortal becomes
a part of the one body of Christ (Eph.
2:16, 4:4; 1 Cor. 12:13; Rom. 12:5), the holy place made without hands (Mark
14:15;), the new homestead of God (1 Cor. 3:16-17).
I
believe that sin-nature-based mortalkind, in and of itself, has no righteousness
whatsoever in God’s eyes; and without repentance to God the heavenly Father, and belief
and confession of his son Jesus Christ, mortalkind cannot obtain the
righteousness of God (Rom. 3:22; 2 Cor. 5:21);
and moreover, the only righteousness that exists is God’s righteousness, which
he gives through his grace alone (Rom. 3:21-26).
I
believe that prosperity in this present life can be obtained through means other
than lying, cheating, stealing and murdering; that through belief in God’s
Word he shall become our sufficiency for all of our needs (Mal. 3:10-12; 2 Cor.
3:5; 9:8; 3 John 1:2).
I
believe that physical healing (Gk. iaomai,
Strong’s #2390) is promised by God as a reward for repentance toward
and/or back to him, and for belief in his son Jesus Christ (Mat. 13:15; John
12:40; Acts 28:27).
I believe I do not need anyone's approval to believe what I believe from studying God's Word for myself; and moreover, that God's promises, and he himself, shall become self-evident to any believer who searches for God's righteousness, since he is a rewarder of those who diligently search him out (Heb. 11:6).
I believe that anyone who hears and believes God's Word about his son Jesus Christ, and who disciples himself to come to Jesus, shall be taught by God the heavenly Father (John 6:45; Isa. 54:13; 1 Thes. 4:9); and moreover, I believe God teaches his children not only through his written and spoken Word, but through direct intervention through his Spirit which he has placed within his children (1 Cor. 12:1-).
My
statement of belief could go on and on to quote God’s entire Word.
But given these seventeen statements of my belief, I believe you have seen
enough to gather what more to expect from my Biblical studies, theses and
preaching at
my website, as to what I believe and practice about God and his son Jesus
Christ.
My daily practice, in relation to my studies, is to do as the Bereans (Acts 17:10-12) in the first century church, which was to verify and substantiate everything they heard taught about God and his son Jesus Christ, as to whether those things can be substantiated in God’s Word. Those things which I cannot substantiate in God’s Word through a very diligent search and study, down into the Greek and Hebrew source languages if necessary, I conclude are not God’s Word, but only mortal-made or devil-made invented religious practices. But those things which I can verify and substantiate in God’s Word, are of God, and are the words of the way, the truth and the life (John 1:14, 14:6), the words of the “Tree of Life”.
May God's new covenant promises be coming to pass in your life!
